Enhanced you say...
Can't say it enhances my experience.
yeah. I was thinking the window timeline might be causing some issues. sense it was delayed and their could be small remnants in the fall update
been having some lagging in chrome, sometimes video will stutter if another video starts playing the same time.
Installed 16299.19 on another machine (z77) and no issues. Had all sorts of issues with earler install on z270 and had to revert to previous CU build. Only slight annoyance with FCU now in that I cant get rid of login screen at wake or startup. Netplwz option to disable it doesnt work, thats about it.
Im gonna be so mad if they push an update with only 1/2 fixes.
It seems after FCU if you minimize a window, like Edge, sound is also muted for that window.
Can anyone confirm? I'd like to be able to minimize browser while listening to music or radio and still get audio. Scanned through audio settings but didn't seem to find anything related.
EDIT: seems to be exclusive to Edge, if using Firefox audio resumes playing after minimizing browser window as usual.
Did you disabled Edge from running in background?
when I booted up today, it took long time to bootup. and when it was finished an logged in. everything that was running before I shutdown last, was running again. utorrent, steam, chrome, firefox, explorer. and system was really laggy. I tried to reboot, but when it went to the restarting screen, the system went to a gsod....
I have some audio popping issues since FCU. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling latest drivers (realtek HD) and lowering audio quality. Anyone else have this or hear about it?
Thats irrelevant, i dont use them either, i found online some info that said the dissapearing start menu might be related to windows apps somehow and you need to re-install them
Seems Chrome Videos crash with 387.92 as well.
Guess it's 1709 related after all.
Most probably here is the answer to autostarting apps
Did anyone figure out how to get rid of all the stutters while gaming on FCU? That's pretty much the only thing keeping me from leaving 1607.
I turned this feature off right after installing 1709, double starts are still happening.
When I tried it I had stuttering on both 388.0 and 387.92. Went back to 1607 and everything was perfect.
I was able to reduce the stuttering by quite a bit after running a script to disable game bar related stuff and uninstalling the xbox app but that makes games like forza horizon 3 unplayable.
I wrote that in a hurry... I mean that MS probably incorporated several changes to support that feature. So it may be related to...
Since Game Mode or what it was formally known as remained off for me after the update.I've toyed around with the reg entries for FSE modes.
Won't be at my system for another two weeks so going off memory here.
There are two of them where FSE is mentioned, I tweak the second one...the first allows values up to 2, where as the second allows up to 3.
I left the first at 0 and the second one at 1 gives best performance at least in WD2 and Witcher 3, 4K Vsync Off, 388.13 driver.
Under this reg key:
These two entries also reset to 2 value at driver install.
I went an image back to 1703 again.
1709 has two things that bother me.
- Random FPS drops to 30 for a couple of seconds.
- Can't disable the "pick up where i left off" feature, which automatic restarts programs on boot.
Im waiting for an update today...lets see how it goes.
Strange. It has been just over a week now and since I did this, the issue hasn't occurred. Hey, maybe in your case you need to turn it on. Windows works in mysterious ways.
It's coming for me right now, actually.
I'll report back!
Updated without issues to 16299.64
