I wonder how Defender performs in 19h1. New features & settings (tamper protection), but how improved is it in performance? I dont think any AV comparative tests done yet, but would like to stick with it this time around.

I've been using this build since 28/03 with every option in Windows Security ON except for SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge. In general, it's much faster now and doesn't rape my HDD anymore. Never noticed it scanning for threats in the background until the notification "you're all good dude" popped up. So Microsoft certainly improved it.

Im using only Defender since Windows 10 came out...didnt see any bad perfomance from it to be honest.
So im guessing in 19h1 it will be much faster and better.

I think I'll go straight to this from 1803. No point in installing 1809 now. Aka the immediately stable build, ahem... (which WU still hasn't offered even mind you, for me)

btw I assume this is still in release preview status? But should be RTM ultimately barring some major issues?

is this "officially" released if so why not sticky yet? I toying with idea of clean installing this. it just formatting my SSD for 10+ time and manually making my partions so windows dont create partions i dont need or want and clean install windows to avoid the unavoidable issue the come with the stand in upgrades is not appealing. my OS SSD has 8.5tb written to which is mostly from from formatting and clean installing windows so much.

But maybe new builds will speed up the kinda laggy metro ui( like why does highlight and right click "copy" function in WU so slow)

most recent Mircocode and CU for 1803 cause my explorer show white screen for second before populating, once I remove microcode update it was back to being instant.

Unless Microsoft have changed their rollout strategy, the Update Assistant should offer the update one week in advance if you run it manually

that's because the products.xml file that the MCT downloads is not yet updated to grab the 1903 ESDs and the 1903 ESDs are not even available yet (aka. not yet posted). that's why the current products.xml file still downloads 1809

on the other hand, MSDN & Visual Studio (VS) subscribers should be getting the 1903 ISOs today as I saw some of the following 1903 ISOs from the msdn adguard site (lucky MSDN/VS subscribers) :)

    en_windows_10_business_editions_version_1903_x64_dvd_37200948.iso
    en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_1903_x64_dvd_b980e68c.iso

Edit: these new articles back my claim for MSDN subscribers getting the 1903 ISOs a month earlier than the general public:
    https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-makes-windows-10-1903-available-on-msdn/
    https://www.askwoody.com/2019/if-yo...-you-can-download-a-clean-copy-of-win10-1903/

everyone else will have to wait until late May for the actual public release of 1903

    Confirmed
Updated my EliteBook 850 G3 (W10 Enterprise) without any issues.

My older Dell XPS 15 (i7-2630QM?) reverted back after 'completion'? Trying again: uninstalled unneeded stuff like ancient VMware workstation 12.5.9 and updated everything else including windows.
EDIT: nope I was wrong, it BSODed twice and reverted back again..
EDIT 2: clean installation of 1903 worked fine

    Btw, also released:
