It says release preview next week, and it's going to spend a long time in there before it rolls out officially

Plus it's called "The May update" and next week is still April

Release Preview is not RTM, there are 3 rings

    Fast
    Slow
    Release Preview

It has to pass through all of those before officially becoming RTM / Final / Released to the masses

This build is the build MS intend to be RTM, but if something comes up it will be replaced with another build

Last time they skipped RP and look what happened

RTM doesn't exist anymore since MS doesn't push some build into upgrade channels (WU / MCT) prior to patching it several times. Wide release will happen when this new build and all the patches will be made available to regular users (non-insiders) via WU and/or MCT.

Yeah I'm still having a bit of a hard time letting go of RTM but it's some gradual rollout now and Windows as a Service via these half-year development cycles and continual updates though it sounds like Microsoft is backing down a bit from forcibly trying to get people upgraded to the newest and latest even from Win7 or Win8 users.

Probably one or two more cumulatives to go then until it hits the stable update channel for non-insiders, interesting.

Light themes (any theme/site, not just Windows/Explorer) are fine if you're looking at them for a short period of time, but hell, they slowly but surely make you feel like you're just staring at a light bulb. Reading black text on light themes for too long gives me a headache.

I've always used stuff like unofficial black themes for windows, since the day that I found out about that sort of thing over a decade ago for WinXP.

Idk why devs took so long to realize how useful dark themes are. Way less eye strain, saves battery life on mobile etc.

I'll bet your monitor brightness is set too high. Most monitors default brightness are set too high when new. A few years ago I bought a colorimeter and found my display was set at around 180 cd/m. Standard brightness when calibrated should be around 120-140 cd/m. After setting it to that, I found my eye fatigue had disappeared and was no longer bothered by light themes.

I always use nvcpl and turn the brightness and contrast down,

and for me also black text on bright white background hurts my eyes

Releasing the May 2019 Update to the Release Preview ring

Last week, we announced how we are improving the Windows 10 update experience with the Windows 10 May 2019 Update in a blog post from Mike Fortin. As part of that blog post, Mike outlined how we plan to deploy the May 2019 Update to customers. Right now, the May 2019 Update (Build 18362.30) is being rolled out to the Release Preview ring starting with seekers. The May 2019 Update will remain in the Release Preview ring for an increased amount of time in order give us additional time and signals to detect any issues before broader deployment.

I probably still wont upgrade to new were builds for while. and even then I will most likely do Clean install.

It gona be at very lest 1 year between build updates for me

Creative is useless in the software department.

I own SB-Z by the way, and i hope i wont face any problems with the new May Update.
