Lol I kinda did the same thing. And it runs great for me, 1920x1080 with 4XAA. 50-60 fps always. I only dip to the 50's in towns.

0 fps on my 4770 (High Settings) but sometimes the fps drops to 15 out of nowhere.
I was in the map looking the challenges then fps dropped to 20
    Besides that
Its Second Life with fancy cars on a fancy island

I was really hoping they'd fix the car handling from the first one. It feels way too arcade like. Other than that I think it's a decent game. The intro was extremely cheesy, same with the characters.

Do you guys get the feeling that your playing a kids game? i mean the fcking comments before you start a race are RETARDED, the voice acting is RETARDED as well, and the graphics some time looks like plasticine.

Does Best Buy stores have PC version of TDU2? I checked their website and found out that they only have PS3 and XBOX360 versions of TDU2 listed on their website.

Its really weird. I cant find any option for the steering linearity option. Even with deadzone all the way down i have massive play in my g25.

This is why i did not play beta more than 10 minutes, tdu1 closed and open beta found my wheel, configured my wheel and with a few tweaks i was happily driving find in BETA in tdu, tdu2 well i could try and manually setup a wheel but the game was not reading my wheel or bothering to set it up all.

Really if this game got to release and they not added proper steering support would be shocking. Glad i decided in beta to sit this one out and stick with TDU 1 might lack the sims aspects but lest i can drive cars i like in obscene ways on busy roads when i have the urge.

The beta was too bad actually with my wheel working right. But the full release of the game is a joke with wheel support.

Alright, if anyone is still on the fence about this game, here's a fairly comprehensive review:

Driving: Yes the main gripe everyone seems to have with this game. Personally, I don't think it's bad at all. It's definitely no sim, but the handling isn't actually bad once you get past the used crap cars you get at the beginning (funny thing, the same exact versions of those cars when new perform 2x as good). The beginning definitely drags, with boring races and challenges in the same crappy car. However, once you get a few wins under your belt and get some money, the rest of the cars in the game drive very well.

They also have very unique characteristics. My Nissan 370Z grips insanely well through corners, and is very nimble and handles very well. My Dodge Viper GTS doesn't handle quite as well, and will usually spin out from a dead stop because of how much torque it has (but mostly because gas is on/off just like brakes, which is kind of lame but meh, definitely not the first game to do this). It's fun to drive though, and it's actually realistic for the most part.

Physics seem decent. Cars can actually flip upside down and roll over, unlike the first game. Off-road racing is actually pretty fun, although basic. You won't find anything but dirt trails (at least I haven't found anything else so far). Also, a silly thing is that any non SUV/off-road capable car will have a top speed of 50mph on a dusty dirt road...which is stupid. But I see what they were trying to do there.

Collisions and damage are okay. The collision physics are good, no complaints here. The damage is lame though, just scratches and your bumper might hang off. But this isn't the dev's fault, car companies won't let you make complete damage models for real cars. Also, a last note is that the driving school part of the game makes it annoyingly linear. You can't get a higher license until you complete all the respective championships for the one you're currently on. However, the game isn't necessarily linear as a result. You'll be earning enough money to afford a few joy ride cars while playing, you just won't be able to race them (you can in MP though). Speaking of the racing, early on it's very easy. Once you get into the asphalt league however competitors become much better. AI isn't that good usually, but it's not in your face unrealistic or scripted like some people have been claiming. Overall, driving is sold enough so that you can have fun, and I'm sure they'll patch some of the bugs (Like doors hanging open for no reason, crappy wheel support, etc). 8/10

Graphics: Graphics are much better than the first game. Models are still lower poly than we're used to these days, and definitely nowhere near as good as some of the triple A titles, but at the same time they're unique and very pleasing to the eye. Cars look good, no complaints. And the character models look way better than they did in the first one. Also, the island looks absolutely gorgeous at sunrise/sunset. Rain is also very nice too, although it doesn't patter on your car (I guess that's beyond the engine's capability). Roads also remain wet for a few hours after a rain storm. Overall, not really "today" graphics but at high settings they look good enough. 7/10

Sound: Engine noises are kind of weak on some cars (Viper is my main gripe). Music is hit or miss. There's two radio stations, one of which is mostly electonica with a sprinkling of hip hop tracks. The other is mostly alternative rock. If you don't like either of those genres, you'll hate this game's sound track. If you like electronica (like i do), you'll love it. It's good for what it is, but I'm surprised they didn't put more types of music. Also, voice acting is painfully bad. The people they picked as the radio DJ's have really annoying voices, and the Solar Crown host is the most annoying of all. There's three possible lines she says before every championship race. Only one of them makes any sense, and they all repeat constantly. That definitely needs to be fixed. It's makes the races feel like a joke or something in a way, totally kills immersion. 6/10

"Social": This aspect of the game is actually kind of entertaining. You can dress up your avatar in nice clothes, change hair, do plastic surgery etc. You can join car clubs and friend people you meet in the shops around the island. You can also choose between a huge number of houses, and you can buy new furniture, paintings and even new floors for your houses. It's a nice touch that makes you feel like you're in the scene. Multiplayer integration is flawless too, with tons of cool race types and stuff to do. Also, I saw some people complaining about "clone syndrome". This is honestly to be expected as the game just came out. Everyone is a rookie. After a week or two most people will have unique avatars. This is what they focused on most with this game, and it really is fantastic. I'm surprised they aren't doing an MMO monthly fee. 9.5/10 (Only because there's still a few bugs).

Performance: Many people seem to be having issues with performance in this game, I'm not one of them. I get 60fps most of the time, with the occasional drop to 50 in a dense area. The lowest I've seen it was 42 and that was in a championship race, looking at the whole pack of cars in a dense city area. I play at full settings, 1080p, 4xaa. I can't really comment overall, but I have seen many people with decent rigs struggling. It doesn't surprise me though, plenty of games are coming out with poor optimization. They'll probably patch it up. *unrated*

My overall score right now is an 8/10, with room for improvement. There's nothing here that can't be improved upon, and it's not broken like people claim. Take this review with a grain of salt, but know that I went into this game expecting a pile of ass. I didn't find that.

The number of these accounts that Ive got now is starting to get ridiculous, Steam, EA, Atari, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Windows live......how many hoops do you have to jump through just to play a game now ?

Got a bit paranoid as I noticed these three cars/drivers around where I always went, after some searching and having encountered them with the offline profile as well it seems to be the bots the game uses, strange to find them online though.
(Just displays a generic name and doesn't show car, car type and car level plus don't show on the map and disappears and re-appears depending on if other actual players are nearby.)

    EDIT:

(Need to buy a better off-road type car, only invested in standard/asphalt types so far, need more garages/houses as well to cover all of it, heh.)

hah it's strange but after playing couple of hours yesterday this game started to feel exactly like tdu1, driving around the island and looking at the scenery.

Races seem to be more difficult too which is good thing.

As I mentioned you can reach Hawaii (Unsure which specific island but apparently the one in TDU1) once you reach sufficient rank (rank level 10) via the airport, once viable you should get a phone call from that show woman again and the GPS should direct you to the airport form where the game will continue.
(Hawaii is far larger and much more difficult but it's a fun area though I'm not even close to finishing everything on Ibiza yet.)
