Official Test Drive Unlimited 2 Discussion
Beta was awful. Completely crap. Not looking forward to it.
already pre purchased on STEAM..
damn, i was hoping it would be an improvement from the first one?
Not likely. It seems like the beta was used to test the social interaction and DLC, everyone complained repeatedly about the poor car handling and awful steering wheel support but nothing was ever done about it. Now the beta is over and the game is nearing release, there's no way I'm pre-ordering it after seeing how pointless the beta was.
test drive beta was a major disappointment but lets hope they fixed some of the major issues. If they have done a complete overhaul on the game and fixed the problems then il give it a whizz.
I forgot about the BETA even though i was supposed to be in it. Looks like the responses here seem like i did myself a favour.
well after reading all the bad things about the beta i sure won't be buying it unless i can try a demo first! you'd have thought they woulda learned from the first one, but they'll still sell millions of copies just because of the "test drive" name alone, sad ...
damn, I had high hopes for this game as I really enjoyed the first one..they could have just updated the graphics (at least NFS Shift standards) and gave a new map and im a happy buyer
the first one had very flawed multiplayer though
It did, thats true but I found it playable still and enjoyed it.
I haven't kept up to date with TDU2 news and am disapointed beta was so bad. I've really been looking forward to this
I've got my fingers crossed the released game will be more refined. I won't be buying at release though, think I'll read what others think first.
Is the demo out yet??
That said hopefully it was merely a test of the way it will be integrated and that the rest of the development continued to at least the standard of the first game.
This game should be fine when it came out the first one was great some flaws but overall satisfied. I played new NFS Hot pursuit demo and I thought the handling sucked but seems to be doing well now its out.
I saw it on the Steam store, thought it looked cool, then I saw videos and suddenly it didn't look so cool.
It's nice that they're trying to do something with the social aspects, but why is everything so slow? Like, every scene where you give your keys or take a plane, etc are all so painfully slow, it looks almost lifeless.
Then the driving, couldn't tell how the cars handled as they were videos, but the environment around you looked rather bare, you probably wouldn't notice while you're racing but...
I kept looking for a racing video, but saw none, was there really no racing in the beta or is it some close that stipulate you can't record races?
It just looked really boring anyhow.
You can see some gameplay videos on youtube some are beta play and looks good to me. I say wait till game comes out and see how it goes. I enjoyed playing the first one just driving around the island kept me busy and of course would hit some of the races to get money and buy the cars I wanted, online was fun to play with friends. TDU2 has added another island and yes there is all the other non racing crap in it but you don't have to focus on those as much if you don't want to.
pre-purchased on steam.
you must be looking backward to it then..
woah, a TDU thread. I've been playing the first game for 3 and a half years and I love it tubbits. But like so many people have said the handling in the TDU2 beta was arcade mode to the extreme. No power-drifiting allowed and that's where the fun is (for me.)
Yeah, there are issues and it looks like they've used an optimized / updated version of the same game engine but fingers crossed they fixed stuff that they asked the beta testers aboot. And they did ask a lot. Handling in TDU2 was sucky and it wasn't possible to control a powerdrift but who knows. Maybe their in house testers got it right.
btw - if anyone wants to cruise in TDU then just look for Pogorobo. I'm always around.
btw - ATI 10.12 + registry tweaks gives you AAx8. never been able to enable it before and it's awesome.
if you're into modding then stick Tool's Evo IX on a stage 2 tuned TVR440. what a ride.
Yeah the beta was horrible more focus on the horrible casino games and buying clothes than racing was looking forward to it until I played it :/
OK luckily I first downloaded the game, before purchasing it..
Played it now for like 15 minute..
This is the biggest joke in racing games (imho)
Graphics look like it's a 3 year old game. Intro is a joke, gameplay is horrible..
I'm definately staying away from this. But who liked TDU, will probably like this one aswell..
