u know like in Bioshock, crisper shadows and better water effects.

Im just wondering if I should install in XP and be able 2 use AA or if I should install in Vista and see some better dx10 effects but be unable 2 use AA.

You can have crisper shadows and better water effects with DX 9 too. It just depends on the developer :p

Right... I saw a review of this on HardOC or something, what a joke. Well the site wasn't trying to sell off the DX0 side of Bioshock but I had to squint a million f'ing times to see a difference in anything DX10. There is literally zero difference between DX10 and DX9 in Bioshock..I believe MOH:A supports some DX10 functionality but nothing that would set it apart from the DX9... I believe like in bioshock there will be an option to turn on some special DX10 fx...but really, who cares? @Bioshock rant above. I've seen Bioshock with DX10 options enabled, there is no bloody difference and certainly nothing you will pick up playing the game... This is what originally led me to some site that compared DX9 to DX10...

lol true but that doesn´t really answer my question, does THIS game have any DX10 effects?

The water effects in Bioshock are VERY much better in DX10 than in DX9.

Well, sorry I just don't see it. And whatever little change there is most players would never know they were playing DX10 or DX9...Like I said, I saw HardOC comparison shots and for what they say is different, I don't see it. The water looked fantastic via DX9 anyhow. Same goes for the shadows, just don't see any difference in quality.

Just got this game, and it's so choppy that it's nearly unplayable. The demo ran super smooth, so I'm not really sure what's up. I've tried everything I can think of. I'll install it in XP and see what it's like there.

Ok thanks, but all I see is that the water is shinier but I had to keep looking back and forth at the pictures. DX9 water is a little more flat. There are maybe a little more reflections in the DX10 and DX9 Vista shots.. but really, I never noticed the water being cheap playing through. In the shot looking at the floor and hallway, I don't see any real difference. I even cleaned my glasses but I think I need eye surgery to see the real difference. In terms of overall play I just don't see anything that warrants needing to turn on DX10...Even at the very start of the game, the water looked f'ing unreal...

Guess u have to see it to see the difference, but I have completed the entire game in XP with Dx9 and now I installed it in Vista with DX10 and the first thing I saw is the water ripples when u walk thru it.
This kinda sums it up "Real-time dynamic interactions with water, producing realistic ripples, motion and interaction with other objects"

Well, I just installed in XP and played it for an hour or so, and it runs perfectly smooth in XP. Anyone else with Vista issues?

The game itself seems splendid so far. But then again I LOVE this genre.

Well, when playing the demo I had issues with SLI in Vista. Huge issues :(

Turning SLI off ---> Smooth as butter ??? Hop it's better in the final game though.

weird...no issues here..runes like the demo..smooth as silk..on XP of course..on vista the performance isn't as smooth..

what can i say..it looks good...the gameplay is great..it's a enjoyable game..doesn't have to have ultra high textures to be fun to play..

Yes well, as I said it runs perfectly smooth in XP, the problem is in Vista. So it's choppy for you as well in Vista?
