Am i going mad, or is this wrong

    Running the render test, it only goes to @ x16 2.0, shouldn't it be @ x16 3.0 ?

Checked the configuration in the BIOS, all slots are on Auto, and all i can select is Auto, Gen1, Gen2.

Im sure it was @ 16x 3.0 when id checked it after just getting it all up and running.

    EDIT:

Very strange, ive sorted it, now reading correctly @ x16 3.0, went into the BIOS, System Agent Configuration > NB PCI-E Configuration, and changed the PCIX16_3 Link Speed from Auto to Gen3. :p

Don't know why i had to do that though, odd.

Does seem odd. I still have all of mine set to AUTO and mine shows up correctly. I wonder if you re seat the card and set back to auto if it fixes it.

    My card is Nvidia...

Yeah its an odd one, i knew i wasn't going mad :p

Don't know why its changed, and why ive had to go in and change it to Gen3, as all i done when i first put it together was, the date/time, and the XMP profile for my Ram.

EDIT: Just read on Overclockers, that it doesn't default to GEN3 when you flash the BIOS, or change profiles, you have to switch it to it yourself, so it probably changed when i switched to the 2nd XMP profile. :)

It's a power saving feature. Mine goes from 1.1 -> 2.0 -> 3.0 depending on idle or active usage. I'm not sure if it does anything, but that's what I observed on my end.

Yeah i know about that, as before starting the render test, its @ 1.1, then when i start the render test, it jumps to @ 3.0, but it was only going to @ 2.0, as id changed my profile in the BIOS a few weeks ago.

Well the temperatures certainly look good for everyday use. I just thought the 5820K would do a bit more than 3970MHz, but I guess you're not going for maximum manageable voltage / temperature?

    I get the 30-40 fps with my 950 @ 3.2GHz and my 580 Lightning @ stock...
The question is if thermal throttling kicks in with your CPU at 4.5? What's the temps there?

Well certainly it's not a CPU problem I'd say, but I expected you to get more fps out of it somehow... but I could be off anyhow.

did some googling and Im not alone with BF4 having low fps with the GTX770...but I could swear I had better fps with my AMD Phenom 1075.
    that's why I'm upset lol

I think the latest driver from Nvidia is causing low fps. I have 4 machines running it and I'm getting stuttering on all of them. I'm gonna roll back to the last driver and see if that helps. Maybe you should try that.

I Just received my 5960X last night..Damn...It's Costa Rica unlike my 5930k which is Malaysia..Very Happy so far..I can get 4.4ghz with 1.270v and 3.8 Uncore..Unlike my Lemon 5930K that can only do 4.3ghz with 1.32v..

On a side note..Here's my 3DMark Firestrike Result..Very Happy with my Physics Score..But since I changed my Monitor From Asus VG278H to ROG Swift..My Graphics Score decrease dramatically..Before my score is within 30K..Now only 27K? Grrr..So Annoying..

Nice... looks like you got a pretty decent chip. Do you think it will do 4.5ghz at reasonable voltage?

Can't Push it further yet because last week my Swiftech H320's Pump broke and still waiting for the replacement..Currently using Corsair H110 until my Swiftech H320 returns..Surely I will Push this chip until 4.6ghz hopefully.

Grats on your new CPU! That really looks reasonably fine for a 24/7 overclock! :)

Thanks Man..Currently running it with 1.26v at 4.4ghz with 39 uncore and 2666 Ram..Definitely destroyed my Lemon 5930k..:)

After Hours of Testing..I find my 5960X Stable at 4.4ghz with 1.235v..And the Max I can go so far with my temporary Corsair H110 is 4.5ghz with 1.27v..Both with 38 Uncore..Never tried to play with Uncore yet..

I'm very satisfied with my 5960X...It blows my Lemon 5930K away..By the way is my 5960x a Good Clocker? Though even if it's average I'm happy that it's better than my 5930K..

    After 3 5820s, best is 4.4 @ 1.29v :(
I'm definitely ordering one pre binned for the next build.
