Restarted Steam twice inbetween BF3 games. Nothing. Ran the Hard Reset game. Looked through the menu's. Tried the benchmark, quit and still nothing. :bang:

This is not the greatest game ever but the free DLC is still very welcome. :)

Game updated but whereas it was working before it now repeatedly crashes even after I validated the game cache and it reacquired 15 files... twice. Swell! :(

    *EDIT*
Ok so I exited and restarted Steam and now it's downloaded the entire 4.5 GB game again. Sometimes I really, really, really hate Steam.

    *EDIT 2*
Selected Validate Cache while the game was redownloading and it jumped to the end ready for me to play it. Fortunately, this time the game loaded and worked fine. Hopefully it will stay that way!!!

Tried the DLC and I'm not really impressed so far.

I really liked the main game, really liked it. But... the DLC so far... feels off.
I'll give it more time, but right now... feels like I waited three months for meh.

You select the the extended content from the menu when you start a new game. That loads up right to the DLC.

The same for the EX mode. Just pick it from the menu when you start a new game.

I'm playing this now - so far, so good. I don't suppose they re-enabled the console? The only thing (for me) that makes this less than perfect is how freakin' slow the guy 'runs'. A little more hitch in his giddy-up would be awesome.

Yes, the player movement speed has always been a negative in this game. For the frantic, fast paced style of shooter they are trying to capture... the remove the most important ability.

Being able to actually run around your enemies, dodge their attacks and lead groups.
You simply move far too slowly to be really effective in larger battles.
Not to mention the majority of the weapons lack a definite "punch" that such games normally empower you with.
Painkiller had fantastic weapons, and weapons that really made you feel powerful. The amount of "punch" behind the trigger made firing them fun.

I can't say the same for Hard Reset's armory. And the better weapons, they nerf with the cool downs. The railgun, the rocket launcher (and it's oddly slow moving rockets)....

I really like Hard Reset. But, it's a far cry from what made Painkiller so much fun.

I was about tk post this. So stoked for this updated version. The vanilla game was great, exile was even better and now this. I had hoped it was a sequel but anything they can do to bring life back to the original is awesome.

Why does it need a redux? Its not like game is a decade old. We needed a sequel.
