Wow, it really looks like NVIDIA owners have a lot of problems with this demo. It is 64 bit by default (or at least in my case) and if you right click Crysis demo icon you can start it in DX10 mode (just copy that shortcut to desktop from games explorer).

I'm downloading it at 283kb/s which is ok I guess given the popularity of the file. I normally get 850kb/s from the mirror though. I'll post the link when I've got it, I just don't want it slammed atm, as I need it by 5pm. I've got 93mins left.

Very high is Dx10 so you need Vista for it.

Well I've had this game since about an hour after it was released and I'm yet to make it past the beach due to the number of times my PC has crashed.

Still trying to pinpoint weather it's the game or my new RAM

well it seems a 8800gtx can run this maxed out, shadows med, without AA + AF), and a ultra can max out the game including AF + high shadows

Just been playing the game in sandbox editor and set game to high and get better framerates (than in game), even though it is in window mode on widescreen i still get to see the glorious dx10 effects:smoke:

I am surprised no one is commenting on the sandbox editor yet. I won't download the demo for a couple of weeks as i am offshore. Also think its strange that so many people are bitching about how hard the game is on their systems, if it ran maxxed out at 60fps straight out the box whats the point? I'd rather have a game thats going to improve as technology catches up to it. Without a game pushing the edges of technology there would be no progress and we'd still be playing pong(stepping off my soapbox now).

I am taking it that you dual boot? Cause you can't run dx10 in xp....

Remember Far Cry? You had to have a top of the line system for that too to run it on max detail. The FX5900 couldn't even run it @max, and the 9800Pro could, with noAA @1024x768 to get framerates above 40fps. I'm curious how my x1600 is going to run it :p
