    Completed the game, about 5 hours and 21 minutes judging by the in-game statistics, seems the average is about 5:30 to 6 hours unless you go for all the extra artwork unlocks and similar (Add two or three hours to find all of that.)

    Good game despite a bit short (7 - 8 hours seems quite common now though.) in terms of SP length (Haven't tried MP yet, could be interesting.) and it does OK as a prologue to Call of Juarez as well. :)

    the only think i could improve is FXFadeLevel(0) it was on 2... lower is better here.

    This lod is killing me and i see it in allot games lately.. thank god for dx11 and dynamic lod tessellation, when it comes that is :D

    well am still getting a weird screen....i downloaded from steam last night and then deleted and re-downloaded...

    maybe it's time to try new drivers. theres a profile in nhancer but no joy..

    i get my bfg 285 tomorrow/monday (not bad for £230) so maybe will try a new drivers install when i exchange the 295.

    if someone who has it running on a 285 can post me which drivers they are using would be nice.

    cheers

    Help needed!! When i play the first Act, as I walk up to the soldiers, they all freeze. I could still move my character, but no one else is moving, so i cant do anything in the game.... everyting else is fine, no lag, no crash. Anyone know how to fix it? thanks

    can anyone tell me if this game is worth it ? they say its like COD 5 if it were a wild west game ... ? what do you guys think ? the first CoJ was slow and lame , you always had to sneak sneak sneak which was a waste ... can someone tell me if this is an action packed game or just another splinter cell wanna be

    I haven't finished it, but yes it's more like call of duty where you kill waves of enemies. Though I am currently at a level where you can do sidequests before taking the main quest :)

    It's awesome. It does have some similarities to COD, but also a lot of differences. The missions are set up in more or less the same manner, but the shooting mechanism is on its own and very good (imho)

    Also; this game runs and looks amazing! The Chrome4 engine really delivers as it runs even better than COJ1 on my rig :)
    A Constant 60+ fps isn't what I expected (in a positive way) Guess there are still developers who actually KNOW how to optimize code....

    playing with the video.scr file...

    Resolution(1280,1024)
    Monitor(0)
    BPP(24)
    FSAA(8)
    TexBPP(32)
    TextureQuality("High")
    Filtering("Anisotropic")
    Fullscreen()
    Shadows("High")
    ShadowMapSize(1024)
    Lightmaps()
    GammaFloat(1.00)
    MaxRefresh(75)
    MaterialQuality(0)
    FXQuality(3)
    FXFadeLevel(0)
    WaterQuality(0)
    GrassQuality(0)
    EnvQuality("FullDynamic")
    ShaderPath(4)
    Postprocess("Normal")
    DisplayDeviceType(0,0.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000)

    its not tested, ima sleep now, but shaderpath(4) = shader 4.0, that means dx10 right? (and its commented by the programmers, so i suposse it shud work), anyways it doesnt work, rivatuner still reports dx9 :p

    and
    FXFadeLevel(0) "should" solve grass pooping, anyways not tested.

    FSAA(8)

    Won't work if it's like the first Call of Juarez.
    (In that regard the example config I posted probably has a 4 for this value, altered it later on.)

    0 = disabled
    1 = 2xAA
    2 = 4xAA
    3 = 8xAA

    :)

    EDIT:
    Filtering("Anisotropic")

    Can be set to AnisotropicTrilinear to enable trilinear filtering, might sharpen textures a bit though it wasn't that noticeable. (Same with the first game.)

    EDIT: ShaderPath(4)

    Won't work either, 1 is 1.4, 2 is 2.0, 3 is 3.0, 4 is X360, 5 is 4.0 and 6 is PS3
    (It even says that in the example config above your own settings, furthermore altering this always reverts back to a value of 3 as that's the only shader model the game uses even though the engine can handle DX10 and the console ports use their own stuff obviously.)

    Played about two hours of this game so, not bad, not bad at all. It feels a bit on-rails at times and the opening level was very uninspired IMO, being a retread of any Call of Duty game but it fortunately gets better. I love the banter between the brothers and with the voice-overs and cutscenes it's very cinematic. I want to keep playing to see what happens next.

    Graphics are a mixed bag though, they look terrific in stills as seen in this thread but the overzealous LOD system, excessive depth of field effects and stiff animations distract from the the otherwise polished and pleasant visuals. I really wish the PC version had more options to alter the LOD because even with Ambient Occlusion enabled via the game profile the frame never once drops below 60 fps with V-Sync and triple buffering enabled. And I've cranked up all the settings to max.

    I'm playing it with the Xbox 360 controller too rather than the keyboard and mouse... plays a lot better and smoother than I expected. The only problem is the duels where the analogue stick proves to be a bit too slow and clunky compared with a mouse.

    Nice game so far but nothing ground-breaking or unique really.
