Naw, I'm using Zalman Fatality with Artic Silver. I also have a Vantec Spectrum PCI Dual 80mm fan card below the 7800. The temp never goes above 50°.

Just to let everyone know, if your monitor only supports 1024x768, as some lcd's do. Mine included.

3DMARK 06 will default at this resolution.

So for ppl with da da da score, could be running at 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024.

ya i was thinking the samething, my cpu is oc'd to 3.0ghz and my gpu is at 505/1350 ... i feel i should be getting a lot more, well a little more atleast...

    4580

    sm2 2042
    hdr 2010
    cpu 1188

wait a second after adding those up it comes out to 5240...i wonder why is came out with the 4580. i will run the test again.

Yep, funny thing that with '06 basic, it defaults to 1280x1024 on my 17" CRT yet I know someone with a wide screen and it defaults to 1024x768 on his, weird.

Anyway, did another run, it is the best I can do mid summer on air cooling (30C+ here) I have put off any thoughts of breaking 3K until winter, lol, only 6 months to wait. :frown:

yup, sure did. I figure i can get my 5200 to beat any other 5200. My 5200 is special!!! I dont think it will get a higher score then that though, as it didnt even get close to 1 fps at all lol. I bet the high resolution really dragged the score down alot, my 5200 doesnt like high resolutions like that lol.

Yea i thought about that also, iv been looking and it seems that my 6800 is on par with the bench scores as any other stock 6800. So really, i did get what i paid for, as for the artifacting.........I dont notice it much anymore, too busy enjoying the nice DX9 graphics at a blasting framerate! So mabye i will stick with it, unless it dies then i will RMA it for a 6800GS. And actually, my 6800 benched better then the one at toms hardware guide by about 200-300 points stock. Thats pretty cool i think.
