haven't finished reading all the posts yet while i'm waiting for 06 to download but here's a little explanation as to why Dualies are getting better scores.

06 is supposed to reflect how well your system will do in current and FUTURE games. Quake 4, COD2, and City of Villans all support SMP for a fact. COD2's patch doesn't do to well but the performance increase in the other two when multithreaded is impressive. 1280x1024 is alot more common now with better cards available to play games at higher resolutions across the board.

as more games come out of the box supporting multithreading like City of Villans did we'll see people raving how they went to a dual core of the same speed of their previous cpu and gained 20+FPS on the low end(minimum frames during gaming). i happen to like that 06 went to more of a full system test than 05's more graphics card strictness. it's alot more realistic in my opinion even though it still won't reflect actual gaming results. after all it's still a synthetic benchmark.

i'll be back with my sure to be weak score:D

achieved by disabling my nic, turning off firewall and antivirus, disabling some services (could do more and maybe get into the 5000s....) and setting the display driver settings to HIGH performance. fun fun fun! :D

just hit PRINT SCREEN and then open mspaint, paste the pic (ctrl-v) and save it as a png. you can save it as a jpg but youll lose some quality for the sake of a smaller file size.

  8. I ran 3DMark06 at default settings and 1280x1024. I also put my driver on high performance and AA and AF on application controlled.

My Specs are in my sig but i will post them here too...

    FX-55 @ 2.76Ghz
    Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
2 gigs of Corsair XMS RAM
    Audigy2ZS Platinum
    2xEVGA 7800GTX's 256MB @ 470,1.2

These are the settings I ran the benchmark at and got a score of 6,219. Is this a normal score for me?

Anyone able to tell me if my score is too low?

This is the third time I have posted this...I just want to know if this is a normal score for my rig? Or is it too low?

    I get 12,156 in 3DMark05...And 6,219 in 3DMark06...

for your right its about right. with some tweaking you should be able to get into the 7000s. typically the new version of 3dmark will give you roughly half the score you got on the previous version. so since you scored roughly half of what you did in 05, then yeah, your score is about right.

  10. Well just making sure, thought it was a bit low for such a setup like mine.

I believe i posted the project comparison link, and the fact that I have a dual core processor helps a lot in this case, since 06 does take advantage of it.

edit: here's the compare url again

  18. Are you all sure that 6,219 is a normal score for this system:

    FX-55 @ 2.76Ghz
    Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
2 gigs of Corsair XMS RAM
    Audigy2ZS Platinum
    2xEVGA 7800GTX's @ 470,1.2

Please, I need to know if this is benchmarking up to par as where it should be...

    Thanks

My bad it's a 3800 dual core i asked for a 4000 X2 model but now after looking at box and runing cpu test i realise that it is a 3800 X2 they said nothing about not having them and gave me this one.
