Well, while the price and power consumption are bound to be crap, at least there shouldn't be any complaints about there not being enough VRAM.

Haven't the power consumption figure rumours become more realistic over the months? Last I remember people commenting they won't be much different from the 3000 series, tier for tier. But who knows. I reckon Nvidia would want to take everything out of 4090, it being the flagship, but the lower models might be more tolerable.

I can't wait to hear all the you tube reviewers telling us how its a waste of money for gamers, the power consumption & outrageous price... Wait for it...
PS. I just bought a 3090 ti.. No regrets at all.

If will be funny if 4070 match the 3090ti. There will be some regrets for sure :D

Or just the fact that you can get the 4090 in 2 months for the same price, with 80 ish % more performance.

Hopefully, then the $500 4060 will at least be modestly appetizing for me being a 1070ti owner, lol.

But not 24 gb of vram probably 12 or so wich is gonne be low for future gaming. My 10 gb 3080 on 4k is starting getting real close to the 10 gb. Some games go even over that.

But still be worse at higher resolutions then a 3090ti. 99.99% of any who buys a 4070 isnt playing @ 4K, 3440x1440, and most likely only 2560x1440. Maybe someone @ 3840x1600.

Why? By then you can get a 4090 to replace the 3090.

*sigh* you didnt read the thread at all, did you?

The dude JUST bought a 3090 ti 2 months before the release of the 4090... hence the remark about regrets.

The point is this isnt the time to buy a new card especially the 3090ti.

Price and power consumption are 2 things that people who buy 4090 grade card do not care about.

The only upside i see from a 3090 owners point of view is that there'll be another 24gb card on the table. Hopefully we 3090 owners might get to use more vram in future games.

The most i've seen so far is probably around 13gb while most games run between 7-10gb. I was hoping that the 4080 will be a 16gb card too.

Vram usage has gone up over the years but very slowly.

    8 GB low-end (no less, minimum 8!)
    ... seems right for today.

Current gen 3080/3070 "high end" with 10/8 GB is an atrocity. So glad miners forced me to skip it !

3070 isn't high end,and 8g is part of the reason you're getting last gen's flagship's 2080ti performance at 499 msrp. but yeah it should be more.
