OCZ CEO Ralph Schmitt revealed that the company will continue to rely on third-party controllers for its SSDs. Due to OCZ's limited resources, the company can only develop one controller at a time an... OCZ will continue to use third-party SSD controllers
And OCZ will continue to be crap. I hate my Vertex 3 SSD almost as much as I hate OCZ's exploding power supplies that kill sound cards with them. I want my X-Fi XM back OCZ, I want it back! Oh and their RMA process is a giant pain involving an angry Asian guy with zero manners who refuses to offer a proper replacement. After a long time of hassles (don't remember, 4 weeks?) I ended up getting a replacement PSU that was a thoroughly filthy refurb that was actually missing a 6 pin connector. I was so annoyed with dealing with their RMA department that I just kept that one. Not like I didn't already have a replacement considering it took them around a month. My 900W Antec HCG hasn't killed any sound cards yet, and I have yet to hear any horror stories about Antec's RMA departments. Yeah my rant is done.
Never had an issue with my RevoDrive X2. Had cheaper OCZ power supplies in the past, again no issues.
Why would one buy OCZ SSDs while there is Crucial I do own an old OCZ Vertex 120GB from late 2009 tho, but that one had the Indilinx Barefoot Controller which is stable.
