If you are trying to use VD for streaming your VR games from your PC to the Quest II then you will need to buy the one from the Quest II store, but remember that FB has no official virtual streaming support on the Q2, it's all done through this third party Virtual desktop app app and the sidequest app, which you will need to install on your Q2 via a PC and USB cable.

    So you need...
Quest 2 store version of Virtual desktup.
Sidequest to unlock the Q2 developer mode
    Sidequest update for virtuak desktop
PC VD streamer app on your PC.

You don't need virtual desktop. I have a Quest 2 and don't use it. I'm either standalone or using Link for sim racing. Some use VD for various things but I haven't bothered.

^^V desktop has been amazing and comes with so many option that the link cable does not have, like a brightness and gamma option as it helps negate some of the Quest II horrible LCD garbage black levels, plus once you have tried the headset with a cable to play your PCVR you can't go back to being tethered, but now Oculus have made PCVR streaming a native feature on the quest II, so you no longer need a third party app, so now streaming your PCVR games to the headset is done in the same manner as using the link cable.....but with no link cable. :)

Could anyone tell me how that works? I usually play on Oculus itself, sometimes use Link and I completely forgot this Wifi thing exists. Would be cool to be able to play Steam games without having to connect the cable.

    On PC...
    Open the Oculus app..
    Head to the beta tab
    Switch on Oculus air play

    On Quest...
    Go to settings.
    Go to experimental
Switch on air play and connect to your PC.

And make sure you are using 5g wifi on the Quest.

I know of Air Link but I can't get it to run anywhere near acceptable for my liking. With bitrate set to zero, it is kinda useable but still far from as good as with the Link cable. My internet isn't the best, it's some 70mbit down 20 up so maybe that's what it is. Perhaps there's some settings I could mess with. I honestly don't mind using the cable, I only use VR for sim racing anyway.

I don't use it myself as i still have the CV1 and the Vive, and i find tethered hmds give me way more better performance than the QII via link cable or airplay.........you just can't beat a hmd with a native display port. ;)
