I would but I read here that the card doesn't downclock, I don't want my card running at max clocks all the time. :(

Even with 260.99, my card doesn't always downclock. When it goes to 2D clock, my card idles at 30-32C....when it stays at 3D clocks, it idles at 35-38C....not really a major issue. Unless your case has poor airflow...the lack of 2D clocks isn't anything to worry about.

Really :S I thought it'd be a lot closer to load temps.

I just tried to download, I see the driver has been removed :/ The new WHQL is just hours or a day away, will go directly for that then.

265.90 downclocks fine for me, but as already said, temps shouldn't be an issue with the 460's.

load temps come from the gpu being under load....not just because the clocks are higher

older gpu's didn't have separate 2d and 3d clocks and rarely suffered from high idle temps....why would newer, more "advanced" gpu's require separate clocks?

Your way to justify lack or bad drivers is saying AMD has worse drivers?

From those threads in the AMD section, I can notice it is almost the same bunch of people complaining. Now I m not saying AMD drivers dont have problems, that s not true. Especially crossfire needs some bugs to be fixed but the situation is not as bad as some people claim. From personal experience I have no problems to report, and this is with 3 gpus CFX.

I never justified them or excused them, i was just saying things could be worse.

I've also noticed that its the same people complaining in the AMD driver thread, its the same people over here too.

I also have no problems or bugs with the actual drivers, even though i have a GTX460, they've just been abit slow recently.
I have no issues using beta's and Quadro's, but i know others only like to use whql, and 56 days is a touch long.

so nvidia is trying to take the crown on bad driver support ? i cant believe this thread. i had no clue this was going on at the green camp.
since i was about to buy a new nvidia gpu, illl hold out a little longer to see what will happen.

Probably for the best, see if these new drivers are all they are claimed to be.

They've not been that bad for me though, just very neglected recently.

i prefer to wait rather having a bad driver like ati does every month
fermi cards are new and needs time to be fully optimized
and there are no major problems are there?
no crashes/freezes in games or stuttering
if u get a stutter probably u playing call of duty lag ops:)
just wait for the driver and it will be promised with lot of goodies i guess

would you prefer a fast and buggy driver? or stable?
its not easy to code a driver period

ManuelG has been quoted in the new driver thread saying new driver release will be on the 1st week of Jan, is he talking about this one or another?

If this one, can someone please upload 265.90 to a filehost like mediafire.com
