Hallo boys, I have a 8800gt@3700fx with bios mod and e8600@4000.

The results seems to be good with specview Maya (Maya profile):

    191.66 not patched: 51.6
    182.08 with patch: 103.9

Unfortunately with proE wildfire 3.0 the mod with the 182.08 patched cause continuously freeze..:bang:

I try to change settings in nvidia panel, but without any success..

    somebody has suggestions? thanks!

We knew there would be problems with this softmod but it worked for Maya and 3ds max so we were all happy. If you used the Maya profile in nvcpanel and proE doesn't work try some (all) different profiles. If none of them work there is nothing to be done.
It's as good as it gets, sry.

    Solidworks OpenGL quadro fix?

    Hello,

    Could rivatuner help here?
I installed the latest version of rivatuner and it says forceware
detected but I have no driver settings. The videocard is a Quadro FX580.
I tried with different versions like 190.00 and 190.38 and also
set the system version variable but I see no buttons to
    adjust the driver settings.

I use Solidworks with a Nvidia Quadro FX580.
Solidworks 2005 and Windows XP recognizes this as a
quadrocard and performance is very good.

But in Windows 7 Solidworks 2005 doesn't recognize
this as a quadrocard anymore and it enables software
openGl which you cannot change and this is very slow.

The latest version of Solidworks correctly recognized
the Open GL capabilities in W7 but I don't like the
inefficient user interface of the new versions.

So OpenGL is available and it works in W7 but an
older Cad program doesn't recognize it.
    Could rivatuner help here?
    Thanks
    Richard

    Hi guys,

I've been reading this thread for several hours. I already got the softmod ROM courtesy of Aquamac and I tried the script found in this thread to patch Vista x64 driver (182.08):

    Code:
; NVSoftQuadroX patchscript by Styler - for XP 64bit Quadro softmods
; based on gellmaR (gellmar@yahoo.com) patchscript
    ; vista fix - ultrabitch (for 182.08)

and IT WORKS on my Win7 x64 with the help of ReadyPlus Driver 1.1 to disable the driver signing enforcement in Win7.

    I haven't make an extensive test, but Maya 2009 & 3D StudioMax 2009 works like a charm :)
3D StudioMax even use the real "Performance Driver" provided by nVidia instead of its own Direct3D or OpenGL driver.

I'm talking about almost 4x faster viewport rendering performance compare to the unmodded 8800GT and 2,5x faster than softmodded QFX3700 without the patched driver, but sadly Redway3D benchmark crashed...
    not that it matters...

    Check this out...

    @Maryus3D:

Thanks, but since this patched driver is originally intended for Vista x64, there will be some hiccups. I had it once, the Aero desktop revert back to the old theme/no tranparencies (no GPU acceleration), but after a few seconds it came back to normal...

Some of these apps don't work as before (luckily most are just a benchmark apps which doesn't really matter if it crash anyway):
    • Furmark 1.70 score drops 10%.
    • Redway3D benchmark crashed...
    • Games that uses hardware accelerated Ambient Occlusion will have significant performance drops (on HawX, I lost 25% from 40+ fps to 30+ fps @1680x1050) due to unavailable feature in this driver version, so it uses the CPU to do the job.

On the good side, I couldn't noticed any performance difference between the original 8800GT compare to this softmod QFX3700 on any of the following games:
    • NBA 2009
    • PES 2010
    • FarCry 2
    • Crysis WarHead
    • COD MW2
    • Torchlight

Well, maybe on newer Quadro driver the problems are fixed :).

    Success in Windows 7 x64 182.08 modded :D

Looks like Win7 is better then XP in OpenGL with Quadro drivers. Weird the textured bike scene. The good thing is that even if the Vsync in off I have no screen tearing in viewport :D.

Hopefully someone will update the script to work on the latest quadro driver, which has hardware accelerated Ambient Occlusion. So it will improve this softmod performance even more.

Redway3D Benchmark don't crash anymore after changing its profile setting to Dassault Systemes CATIA - compatible application, but I think since this benchmark has supported hardware accelerated AO, I get lower point compare to the latest (unpatched) quadro driver.

RealFlow 4.38 works with the Autodesk Motion Builder profile.

Now working on a Maya project which has lots of image plane and it doesn't slows down anymore like it used to....:) Even when I try to use the hi-res image.

Yes, even when it reaches 160 fps...

can anybody update the patch for newer version of quadro drivers that supports CUDA and AO?

Does anyone who has this softmod try to run After Effects with Elementar accelerator? Just curious on its performance improvements with this so call specialized quadro plugins.

How will this affect Solidworks and will I get more performance?

I don't have Solidworks to test... But I've been using this softmod for almost a month now and it works flawlessly in Maya & 3DSMax, compare to the original 8800GT. This softmod gives me over 400% performance boost in Maya & 3DSmax...

Anyway, I just noticed something in Nuke. Before this softmod, it would take a few seconds to preview result of an image filtered with T_Rays (even when the image is as little below 1k), but after softmoding I get a realtime preview on a computational intensive filter such as Tinder T_Rays even on an over 3k image and surprisingly, without even turning on the Proxy mode...
