599$ with aib cards up to 699$. Thats a steep price nvidia for a 4070 and those specs.

    4070TI vs 4070

    Cores: -30%
    Price: -33%
    TDP: -43%

I don't know, feels like they make it their crusade to punish people more, the lower they buy down the tier list. As if they'd reasonably think they can make people in the market for a 4070 "spend a bit more" to buy a 4090 in the end...

Whats the 4070 VS 4080 ? I'm just wondering why its €1000 more over the 4070 RRP!

Well to be fair, price and TDP probably are tied to the model variant (AIB or FE etc.) anyway. But going with the numbers given in the OP as presumed FE numbers, comparing it to the 4080FE you'd get something along those lines:

    4080 has 65% more cores (9728 / 5888)
    ... costs double the money (1199 / 599$)
    ... has 60% higher TDP (320 / 200W)

and because I wrote it totally wrong and bad to read, here 4070TI vs 4070 again

    4070TI has 30% more cores (7680 / 5888)
    ... costs 33% more (799 / 599$)
    ... has 43% higher TDP (285 / 200W)

And looking at those numbers, do we now know why they killed mGPU usage? Why SLI and CFX are dead? When you would be better off buying 2x 4070 in SLI than a 4080 for double the money, even with less than 100% utilization? So they can make you buy the higher tier card that's actually worse in every aspect except absolute performance numbers (like fps / $ and such)?

I hope Nvidia won't suddenly raise the price from that before release. That's like the absolutely ugliest maximum it should be, even in their new crazy pricing scheme. 3070 had an MSRP of $499, though it was heavily bloated by the crypto maniacs. From 499 to 599, it's an increase of 20%. Why didn't Nvidia have the guts to increase the 4090 price by 20%, compared to 3090? Such a lost opportunity for profit! Can Nvidia even do business?

    ... has 38% higher FP32

    ... has
    ?? better 4k performance

    my guess: 18-20%

    Indeed.
Then again that argument goes both way.
'Member all the crying about Titans, 90s and such: "OMG 70% more expensive for measly 15% perf."
Now they are making it easier for you to buy the higher tier card :D

I guess the pricing *kinda* makes sense. The 4070 is 24% cut down over the 4070Ti and costs 25% less.

This may suggest the 4060Ti will be $499 and the 4060 will be $399.

Unfortunately, those cards will be so heavily cut down they probably won't even be worth buying.

Nvidia is insane if they think even 500$ is reasonable for this performance class....

Oh how I miss this class of cards costing 330-400$

ok i'm just going to nibble at the edges of this topic...

Nvidia is missing out with increasing swathes of the market according to the latest trends. all of their gpus are physically unwieldly and oversized at the enthusiast level requiring new cases or major modifications to the case (incl. fans). the msrp is just insult to injury.

Nvidia earns their largest slice of the gaming market due to mobile gpus. the mobile gpu outsells desktop over 2:1 mainly since crypto on a value per system (or laptop) basis. this also coincides with the rise of SFF and the trend of undervolting.

if Nvidia actually cared about the gaming market and dipping pc sales they could easily sell mobile gpus for desktop with a new line of 2 slot. low power gpus. we all know that the nomenclature is off as the mobile is effectively the model with the next lowest number of the desktop, but it won't matter. imagine buying a 4090m for $850 or more to the point 4070M for $399 - and Nvidia would make bank at these prices. hell they can also be the sole vendor w/ FE... if they did this their P.R. would swing 180 degrees

    but they won't

Mlid was only $200 off this time, great sources once again. and people actually believed 4070 will be priced like 4070Ti.
600 ain't great, but it'll sell like hotcakes if there are msrp aib cards coming indeed. 76% of 4070Ti gives you a ~3080 that can run on one 8-pin basically.
You think this will be worth it for 1440p high refresh or better buy used last gen ? Gotta have dlss on my primary card, don't have to be dlss3 though. 2.x.x would be enough.

The last I looked their Mobile division was roughly 2 times bigger than Desktop. Total enterprise value / price wise.
It's hard to judge these days because everything is labeled as Gaming.
But if volume ratio of 2:1 is correct then Mobile truly dwarfs Desktop.

Which always seemed funny to me:
we're so focused on GPU wars yet forgetting that Desktop matters only so much in the big picture.

So what they're labelling as "gaming" revenue is 66% mobile ? holy crap, I didn't realize that. They probably made a lot more money on selling mobile 3050s/3060s than desktop 3080s and higher, no wonder they don't give a crap.

    Yes
(Mobile + Desktop) GeForce = Gaming.

It's been like that for quite a while.

I don't think they will get the sales at $600 - there's a lot of people out there who just aren't going to upgrade if the prices stay that high. It also suggests a 4060Ti at $500 and a 4060 at $400 which is also to too high to tempt considering how cut down they are. I gotta feel that we are still being screwed by crypto - they set the precident that you can sell at much higher prices. Now you can see the gpu companies are willing to keep the high prices just to see if we'll stomach them and buy.

RTX 2070 was already $499. The shameless price bloating began with the 2000 series, which was the huge shock for everyone, no matter how much Nvidia tried to hype the RT and DLSS, back then. I recall I was seriously planning to buy a 2070 card, until the prices of the 2000 series cards were revealed.
