1.5gb of video ram is enough man, Crysis maxed out with maxed out aa takes roughly 750-800mb of video ram. Not many games uses or comes near 1.5gb, dont know what you are worrying about. 1.5gb is super plenty, even 1gb. now if you say 512mb or 256mb then I would say . Min at least, min of 750mb+ of vram for todays games with todays usual resolution gaming monitors. how many game uses full 1.5gb+ of vram, not many at all, you would have to do mod the game out, similar to elder scrolls IV oblivion, doing the texture mods, etc, etc. to eat up that much vram, other then that, str8 from the game and play, 1.5gb usage, very highly unlikely.
If we trust VR-zone, they have the final spec. http://vr-zone.com/articles/nvidia-geforce-gtx-590-final-specs-unveiled/11604.html As promised, we now bring you the final specs of GeForce GTX 590 launching in a week's time : Codename D13U-50 GF110/P1020 CUDA Cores : 1024 (2x512) Graphics Clock: 612MHz Processor Clock: 1224MHz Memory Clock: 3420MHz Memory Interface Width: 2 x 384-bit Memory Config: 3GB GDDR5 Power Connectors: Dual 8-pin Dimensions: 11" x 4.5", Dual Slot Ofc take it with a grain of salt, as i hardly believe thoses low clock speed and this can be old " clock speed " before 6990 release, let's wait more infos for confirm ( or not ) this .
no its not enough, it depends on what resolution you are running, what mods, and what aa level. I need more then 1,5 GB im sure. check out the screenshot thread for some people going close to 1,5GB.
I wonder if they are going to bundle Cry**** 2 with it as well, seen as its out on the same day, be absolute LOLtastic if they do.
yes indeed a new game bundled sounds good, better then the old games i used to get whenever i bought a new GPU
Wow, they've really had to downclock it (if true), 612mhz, thats nearer to the 470 isn't it ? EDIT: Yup, 470's are 607mhz.
faked slides ....faked GPU-Z report? whats your opinions on this tidbit found recently ? http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/281/.html Core Clock: 752 Memory Clock: 1002 MHz Memory Bus: 384 bit Memory Size: 3072 MB Memory Type: GDDR5 Interface: PCI-E ROPs: 96 Released: Mar 2011 Shading Units: 1024 Graphics Processor GPU: GF110 Process Size: 40 nm Transistors: 3000M DirectX: 11 Shader Model: 5.0
ahh bundles with games, the e-tailers should have a list of optional bundled games. cause when you buy more than one gpu u end up with 2 or 3 or 4 copy's of the same game. having a list of bundled game options would be bestter. then one could choose from the list a different game with each gpu.
Even though its a product I would never buy, cant wait for the reviews. Just to see the reactions of people if it exceeds or falls below expectations.
Its Online ready to pre-order at only $799.99US , it costs more than what i paid for my 8800Ultras back in the day. It will be slower than HD6990 due to the very low clocks. http://www.expc.ca/i-17979-ASUS_ENGTX590_3DIS_3GD5.html By chispy at 2011-03-18
