    so basicly i was right when I thought the 450gts was gona handle post processing badly

    That's strange, with my 9600gt, using smaa or fxaa, gives me better performance than any other AA method in games like skyrim, deus ex, ghostbusters the video game, and many others

    Yah that is what I'd expect... My original post was just trying to think of a reason the GTS450 would stuggle with it. The 9600GT is quite a bit slower than the GTS450.

    Maybe he is forgetting to turn off regular AA when he turns on FXAA or SMAA? Running MSAA & FXAA/SMAA together would be a pretty big framerate hit. I know I forgot to do this once when trying SMAA out in Batman: AC.

    9800gt had more texture fill rate performance then the 450gts 33.6 vs 25.1 I should know that was my old card. and the bandwidth is only .1 better then the 9800gt and last i heard that is what is need for AA and post processing but i guess i could be wrong and no AA is turned off in the games and AA isnt not used CP of nvidia I do know my 9800gt handled FXAA and AA much better then the 450gts i got from my RMA does 450gts might be faster but imo that only true with AA and post effect turned off with them on i saw better performance from my 9800gt

    Sweet! Performance is great, combined with 8xMSAA Skyrim is incredible. That Steam hack fixed the gamma issue. It doesn't blur anything and and it does incredible job for foliage, even better than 4xTrSSAA.

    but my 9600gt (overclocked at 720mhz) have less texture fill rate than your old 9800gt & the gts 450, still the post processing AA works much better than others AA methods, in fact, yours is the only case that i saw worse performance with fxaa & smaa

    I dont know say, those are the results I get. 450gts is indeed faster then the 9800gt i had long as AA and post effects arnt used. with them on it suffers more then 9800gt. does your OC 9600 have higher then 25.5 texture fill rate? cause that is the fill rate on a 450gts

    Unless this is all do the fact I have multisampling on by default in nvidia CP for when I do use AA in my games. I dont know but even then I had Multisampling on my 9800gt and i still handled AA and post effects bettter.

    Maybe I need to do fresh install of win7, but I not about to do that over FXAA or SMAA.

    Like said only program i seen better results with FXAA is PCSX2 and the GDSX built in FXAA

    my OC 9600gt have 23.04 TFT, a little than gts 450, so that's not the problem

    dont know then but FXAA/SMAA definitely has huge performance hit compared to normal AA for me, other then thePixel fillrate being the culprit which is around 13.2 I at a lose as to why i getting such a huge hit. I do run drivers in High quality mode, but i did the same on the 9800gt too

    Any examples on what are good numbers?
    Code:
    [injector]
    ;toggle shader keycode
    key_toggle = 19

    ;make screenshot keycode
    key_screenshot = 44

    ;reload shader files keycode
    key_reload = 0

    [smaa]
    ;smaa preset one of {SMAA_PRESET_LOW, SMAA_PRESET_MEDIUM, SMAA_PRESET_HIGH, SMAA_PRESET_ULTRA}
    preset = SMAA_PRESET_ULTRA

    [misc]
    ;set to 1 to improve steam overlay compatibility
    weird_steam_hack = 0

    What can i change here ? i only changed from HIGH to ULTRA

    Well,

    .If you are using ENBseries MOD, check if enbseries.ini has framerate limiter
    .Else I suggest you to use tommi SSAA tools, it has FPS limiter

    .You can use SMAA injector with enbseries by renaming SMAA's D3D9.dll into something like d3d9SMAA.dll and mentioned it in the enbseries.ini's [Proxy] section (enabling it of course) <- Don't do this if the enbseries.ini you are using already has another something.dll file and enabled, because if you do then you will lose that specific something.dll's effects.

    SMAA works great except for NFS The Run. The effect is enabled, it is visible on letters, but very few jaggies from in-game are being reduced.
