Much easier to find a 6900XT in stock than a 6800/6800XT, but for only slightly more there is the 3080 Ti, will have mine in 1-2 days.

    2060 12G is meh.
but a 2070 Super re-launch would be pretty interesting tbh.3060 was a bummer.

Wow so many people forget that AMD\ATI has always had significantly more vram than Nvidia, and it hasn't mattered yet. Go ahead and try to prove me wrong.

    both parts are false.
980Ti had more vram than Fury X,and it has mattered.big time.
are you suggesting it doesn't work the other way around ?

Yeah it doesn't work the other way around since Nvidia is the trend setter, AMD and Intel have to follow suit.

Actually it did matter for at least one game with a crap ton of high resolution textures and other mods, but at the same time bandwidth not being a bottleneck for the additional amount of vram also matters, and that the chip itself can tag along.

I did buy one couple of weeks ago. I was lucky as i was not able to find another deal for one since then. But I paid 1399$ CAD for it online (new sold by the store not a scalper) which is actually less than the cheapest 3070 I ever saw in Canada.

I guess finding a card is mostly a matter of luck and being at the right place at the right time these days.

Dunno. 2070 Super remains one of the most disappointing card nVidia ever made. Was 200$ more expensive than a 5700XT in Canada, was barely any better when ray tracing was not supported and was not so great at ray tracing anyway unless DLSS was used.

Actually consoles are the trend setters these days.

I assume ;) I hesitated a lot before spending 1399 on a new GPU but when i saw the price my 5700XT was going for on eBay and made the math and realized i was pretty much paying MSRP for the 6800 lol The price i paid the the 6800 - the money i got for the 5700XT was pretty close the what i would have ended paying for the 6800 after selling the 5700XT in a normal world. But most 6800 i see are 1700-1800 and not 1400 i guess someone at the online store made a mistake or something.

Hey everyone has different justifications for spending amounts of money for things... for some it's nothing amount of money, for others it's a lot for essentially a toy that will be swapped out in a few years.

In my opinion It's kind of crazy to spend on a single video card the amount I paid for every other part combined that I upgraded at the start of the year xD

It would be kind of funny though if in like 2 years from now you can sell your video card for more money than you had paid for it still... lol.

Hardly, PC ports are often developed by another studio that would always optimize for the PC marketspace (like Nixxes who do PC ports for PS games), they have to after all. You probably don't know the wrath of PC gamers when they see some terrible console port :D, remember Batman Arkham Knight? I do (Batman Arkham Knight mass refund)

So yeah, Nvidia being the biggest player in dGPU marketspace means that independant game studios who want to sell more copies will have to optimize their games for Nvidia hardware.

can someone be more out of touch ?

2070S Trio was 2500 here when 5700XT Nitro was 2200 when I got it,not only was it faster but came with two games that both had RT and both ran really good with RT+DLSS.Control 1440p dlssq + ultra rt ran between 55 and 65 fps for the most part and looked amazing,rt+dlss for youngblood came later but it was really good, rarely dropped below 80fps.It's the same narrative i hear from techtubers like HUB,RT is not gonna matter for them until a mid-range amd user can have it,despite the fact that owning a 2070S in 2018 you could already run RT games just fine.

    so yeah,worst ever made.I guess 5700xt was better,right ?
slower,no rt,no dx12 ultimate features at all, plagued by black screens for months but it was a whooping 10-15% cheaper for a card that was pretty much a beta demo for rdna2.

I love how eveyone from team red inflates the price differences.
when was 2070S ever 160usd more expensive than 5700xt
the msrp for 2070S trio was 515,440 for the nitro. That's not even half of what you're quoting. And north america is not the whole globe you know.In central europe amd prices tend to be a little higher than in US/Canada/Australia since they're usually just scarcer. It's been like that since the days of gcn,and is like that still
    30806800.jpg

recently I heard that a 10400f would cost somebody 150 dollars more than a 3300x in america,so I checked it out and the cpu was 150usd itself.how are you all getting these numbers ?

seriously, how are you getting this ? the numbers don't really support the common misconception that amd offers a lot more value,so let's just make them up.

i've seen a guy comparing 6600xt and 3060 when it came out, just took two most expensive 3060s and two cheapest 6600xt's (one out of stock) and declared that in australia 3060 costs almost twice.

    zero credibility.

Well at least the 5700XT can mine really well :D, that's why he sold it for more than he paid.
Some 5700XT owners like to compare the most expensive Nvidia model like the Asus Strix to the cheapest AMD model like the Sapphire Pulse to make them feel better about their purchase.

pulse is more like a mid range version.there are worse.
trio was better than nitro tho

    https://www.techpowerup.com/review/sapphire-radeon-rx-5700-xt-nitro/31.html

5 degrees cooler and 5dba quieter at the same time.
    ~10% faster
supported rt,dlss and a complete dx12 ultimate feature set
came with two 60 dollar games

still, worst card ever for 5700xt buyers, who bought one at half price apparently when the real difference was 75usd.and like I said,rdna1 was a beta demo, the actual product was supposed to make it into consoles.

If Nvidia is going to flood the market with these cards the price should be $249.99. Tops!

Well RDNA1 owners really believe the Finewine thingy even though DLSS and DX12 Ultimate (Mesh Shaders, Sampler Feedback, VRS, DirectStorage) are pretty much slam dunk for future-proofing. Though I bet more than 50% of RDNA1 owners already sold their GPU to miners already , so who even care about RDNA1 anymore?

290/x vs 780ti ...8gb vs 3gb.... The 780ti run out of memory and neglect resulting in the 290 to be viable today even since a 290/x are sticking close to 1060 /480/580 the 780 did not age well at all , the gtx 770 an 680 2gb on higher details they had missing textures on prey due to the lack of vram while the 4gb version of the 770 didn't , neither the 3gb 7970. Just a few on top of my head.and as mentioned earlier the fury:s 4gb really gave a rather easy win to the 980 ti especially later down the line.

There is no question that more vram have an effect on the longevity of the card. Amd did always have more memory than nvidia and it served them well. It will be the case with this generation as well.
