And here I thought buying a 2080Ti two years ago for a price slightly above the MSRP of a 3070 was stupid.

2021 is such a strange year.
    Old hardware being released again.
New hardware at all time record prices.
Lower end GPUs with more vram, than high-end.

I do wonder what will happen when mining demand goes way down, and the market gets flooded with GPUs.
Will people just grab a cheap GPU from miners, or go for new expensive GPUs.

For the right price I'd buy one lol....

Why go forwards when you can go backwards... it makes perfect sense....

I was looking around for them but unfortunately the cheapest I can find where I live is exactly $600.. everything else is auctions and then overseas... saw one from Japan for $4,974.65, which was.. um.. interesting.

Hey... one of these days video cards will come down in price... right?.... right?

They should have kept these in place of the 1660ti or even long side them to satisfy the lower end market and save on the newer fab space since these are now on an older lithography.

there is no competition in this price range, that is why they're buying it.
I can't imagine they're happy, but there are no better alternatives.
67000xt can barely keep up in traditional performance charts,it's more like a 3060Ti,and in RT 3070 wins in a landslide.

They can make lots of them without effecting 3xxx series production. Old and slow enough that with a LHR they won't really be worth the effort for miners. Yet still a big step up from the 1660's in performance and features. Will give OEM's something to use - 12gb ram, RT, DLSS will look good on a case sticker to the uneducated.

Rt on a 3070 even at 1440p are cutting it close in doom eternal its out of vram and beaten by a 2080ti.

6700xt right now is quite a bit cheaper as well.

Better than a 2060 with 12 gigs on the same old bandwidth, like them AIB cards where they added more memory in the past.

so like it or not,it's the only option to get smooth raytracing experience in this price range

    6700xt starts at 850, 3070 around 900

noth worth the 10% normal and 40% rt performance increase ? imo it is.
