I can see why NVIDIA wants to make it easier on consumers, but I also believe it is the consumer's obligation to do some research on the product they are buying before shelling out 300-500 bucks on something they don't know how well it will work in their system The consumer needs to educate themselves, its not like they don't have the resources available to them to do 5 minutes worth of googling
Good point. You can only make things so simple before you lose the information that differentiates the products. Personally, I knew **** about the graphics card market and what was what until a while back, and it took less than a day of research to learn more or less everything that was needed to know that generation. It really isn't that hard. If a VGA company feels it's customers could benefit from simpler naming, then I worry about the latest customers.
