pre-orders loom very large as the massive back-stock of 10xx will attest.
this is wrong-footedness at its "finest".

    1) launch massive promo for 10xx cards with free games
    2) wait until the sales are underway before launching new products.
    3) launch 20xx with free ray-tracing games

i will be bringing up these points at next shareholders meeting. i will not be signing any proxies.

According to the spec sheet on the GR6500 it does 300 million rays/s which is a fraction of even a gigaray.

Kyle stirring the pot and adding drama for clicks. Nvidia requiring a reviewer to sign a NDA for access to drivers seems fair. Nvidia wants to have its own approved reviewer list so if you dont make the cut as a reviewer and bow to nvidia good luck.

Cpu wise, im moving to AMD, won't be surprised if Navi will be 30-40% faster than 1080Ti, at a fraction of 2080Ti's cost.

Navi will only be faster if it runs hotter and takes more power.

    what??
    the physics say differently.
you would be correct if the gpu's were on the same process, but they're not.
the main attraction of shrinking a process (besides more chips per wafer) is the reduction of power.
heat always is a problem with a smaller surface area and smaller traces, but lower power equals lower heat.

If you haven't moved already, I'd look toward AMD's upcoming 7nm Zen 2 from TSMC - now that is something I'm looking forward to.

That's the plan, there is a very good chance that Consumer Zen 2 will be 7nm, and will have probably more than 8 cores.

If it will have at least 4.3-4.4ghz that's a great upgrade for me already, as AMD's PPC is higher. +it will have solder. ;)

The physics would say different if the physics were real.

    Vega 64 = 14nm
    Pascal (102/104) = 16nm

Guess which one of the 2 was the hotter, lower performing part.

that number is only one of many that contribute to the electrical and thermal characteristics of the resulting chip.

lol, solder - yeah I have many reasons for still rocking my broadwell-e solder included...thermal paste... it's like watching a company like Apple go from Steve Jobs dying in 2011 - after which slowly QA steadily declined - repair programs, product-design / contrast to Cook's strategy of solely financial profit.

Circa X99 was great for Intel, they bit off enough to chew but following that came some bizarre changes in PCI-E lane restrictions to more cpus, RAID unlock keys for VROC that no one is buying because the last time RAID keys were seen was several years ago. AMD's at the start of an era...I hope it brings Intel back to a less-restricted more competitive place.

yes, but the subject was Navi, not Pascal OR Vega 64

IF Nvidia had Intel's "10nm" process things would be more equal BUT THEY DO NOT, so it IS NOT

amd are going with tmsc for 7nm, which afaik, has the same TGP as TMSC 12nm.

AMD and Nvidia also control what the reviewers say about the cards. By not sending you any more review samples if they don't like your review. I guess i'd do the same if I made the product.
