I remember it well, there was hell on over here in the UK, they hadn't been out a month, when Nvidia cut their prices by hundreds, hilarity ensued
Well it depends if you want more FOV in your games over pure image quality. I think 4K would give you a better picture, but not as great of a FOV as 3 monitors. I mean most games let you tweak FOV now so who knows. Maybe someone here with a 4K monitor could chime in on how FOV is with 4k and gaming. It's going to come down to what matters most to you out of the two. Most 4k monitors are higher quality panels with 10-bit color, at least ASUS is for sure. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=ASUS_4k_monitor-_-24-236-399-_-Product So yeah...IQ or FOV. If it was ME here, I'd go 4K for the IQ and future proofing. But that is me. Just make sure if you go 4K, get 780Ti SLI or R9 290/290X Xfire minimum. That is if you want to attempt to even get close to holding 60hz vsync. If you go Nvidia I'd definitely take TITANS over 780 Ti's for the 6GB vram, but they are way more expensive than the R9 290/290X's. So that might make your might up right away if you go 4K.

Well I personally wouldn't take such simulated number games too serious. As always, there might be a grain of salt to it, but as some rumors would say the 390X is shipped with a hybrid cooling system, I would say they are not properly cooled under air... the question is, will Nvidia be able to do it on the next Titan? Also, I'd want to see release dates now! I demand it!
Yep this is why it baffles me that people bash AMD or Nvidia. Without on or the other we would be paying extortionate amounts for out GPU's. AMD knows they need Nvidia and Nvidia knows they need AMD or the market will become stagnant. I have owned both companies cards in the past and will own either company that gives me the best performance vs price ratio for a high end card. Right now that is AMD for me, I hate Nvidia's policies and being all closed off with the graphic options they market to people. It really annoys me, but don't get me wrong if they released a GTX980Ti or 990 or even TITAN 2 for around £400 I would snap that up in a heartbeat. But for now I know their cards will cost a ton more than AMD's card yet only perform slightly better and not warrant the price difference. If they opened up their technologies like AMD has done then I will be in a big pickle when choosing cards.
hahahaha 2% performance increase for Nvidia yet they will charge around 20-40% more for their GPU because it has the TITAN name.
Your failing to see the bigger picture.....The original Titan on water with a volt mod is one of the best GPU's that you can buy even in 2014. It has out lasted the.... 690 780 780Ti Titan Black Titan Z 970/980 Amd 280,290,7990 Thats many new gpus that have come and gone yet the new Titan still outperforms all of these on water with a voltmod. It has 6Gb of Ram and can be overclocked well over 1400mhz. People were saying that 6Gb is not needed and at the time it was not needed. Nowadays i would love a card with 6Gb or more. Higher screen resolutions, increased AA, DSR and console ports can only mean a card with lots of vram is very welcome. If the new Titan is anything like the old card which is capable of a decent volt mod then i will think of it as alongterm investment. 12Gb Titan II/X.....Oh yes indeed!
I bought my GTX280 on launch for a grand (NZ). Same price as every other top end card thats been released since.
I'm right there with you. I already have my 5930K, memory and X99 Deluxe. Just waiting on this damn card. :nerd: Can't believe how much 16GB of DDR4 ram costs right now. Jeez.
Depends on price and performance out of the box. Mainly price, if its 1k or under I'm gonna grab it. May grab 2 depends on how I feel, thing is as much as the 690 is still a great card performance wise the 2gb of ram is really starting to show in 1440p. I was gonna upgrade to 980s but decided to hold off so my neext gpu upgrade, well I'm not waiting this time, I'm buying as long as price is ok. When and if I do get these cards I wont even install them until I have a waterblock.
I wonder where all my money has gone. Back in the days paid $1000+ for 8800 Ultra x 2 for SLI. This with the BFG 680i motherboard $500+ and some Dominator ddr2 $450+ drop in also the biggest mainstream monitor 24 inch $1000 bucks. Now i Bulk at anything over $700 for a top end GPU. Few things have changed back then 1. Marriage 2. Children 3. Child support 4. Marriage 5. Mortgage 6. Children 7. Still ongoing Child support from first marriage. All in that order.
I see, actually I'd rather have two of those also, but the question is if one needs it or if two 980s would be sufficient for 1440p 100+Hz gaming. I wish I'd go for dual Titan2s with waterblocks, but it doesn't look like they'll be releasing them in time for me. And I'd even wait with putting everything together on a watercooled rig until everything is here, not much use in changing the loop so you don't cool the GPUs, and then changing it again and put the Titan(s) under water.
