it mainly becomes a huge slap in the face when they release the gtx 980 thats almost the identical card for half the price.
On air i dont rate the Titan but on water its probably the best card you can get because of custom volt modding. Agent-A01 has his at around 1450mhz! Its the same way i push my own card to 1372mhz. Hopefully same can be done with the Titan II.
Not Titan and 780ti Buying Titan day 1 was pretty smart. Best performance for 10 monts before 780ti classy came. 2xTitan vanilla worked great with 1.3V AB hack. 1330mhz SLI
The 780 was a similar card (slightly slower) at a substantially lower price ~2 months after the Titan. The 780 Ti is faster than the Titan and it isn't so cheap, it's still ~$750 (or more after taxes and shipping). By the time I change them I will have had close to 2 years with my Titans (and 780s in my secondary box). I got good mileage from them
I really want to see what AMD is going to do with the R390/390X. I've used AMD/ATI before, and had just a good of time gaming as I did with Nvidia. If the price/performance ratio is right, I might switch camps again this round.
i remember the good old days when the gtx280 after tax and shipping was only 360$ cad at 750$ befor shipping for the 780ti prices have more then doubled in a very short time
Thats so funny you said gtx280. I remember that very well they luanched for about $625us then in a few weeks Ati had the 4870 and 4850 out and was alittle slower then the 280 but was 2 hundred usd cheaper so Nvidia dropped the price down to 425ish. nvidia had to drop the 9800gtx+ down $100 also. I had like 4 or 5 9800gtx/gtx+ and a gx2 so i did not get a 280 at launch but had a few 260's for like $300us after price drops.
Nice... 2 x 6 pin and 1 x 8 pin sockets... :eek3: The entire city will know when you've turned your pc on as their lights will dim. I've also heard rumours that quad SLi consumes around 1.21 gigawatts of energy.
Nvidia is hosting a very big reveal event on 10 – 12 September next month and this is where the second generation Maxwell will make its debut. Roll on Roll on.....
The GTX280? I had 2 of those, 2 BFG ones, i was able to play FC2 at a constant 60fps back in 2008. They were great until the 295 appeared.
What, Titan2? GM200 with full Double Precision? Out of nowhere now on 28nm? Idk kinda doubt it or did 20nm really mature that much? I mean they just released GK110 quadros with 16gb ram ~month ago, if there is a titan2 there will be new quadros too, but kinda doubt it :nerd: Although that photo now @ main guru3d site shows 16x 512mb so total 8gb and with 512bit @ 7ghz could be a ~448gb/s monster. This would probably play 4K @ 60fps for sure and all that next-gen U4E, etc.. Nvm lower 1080p or 1440p
Close battle now between Nvidia and Radeon,I myself perfer Nvidia but have been considering getting a pair of R9 290's in cf, that amount of power per dollar cannot be beat I tell you.I am going to be building a whole new system Intel based more then likely.
Only do R9 290/R9 290x if you need the 4GB Vram. If you are on 1080p, you are better off getting GTX 780 or GTX 780Ti. GTX 780 is actually faster than the R9 290x OC'd. http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-290X-vs-GeForce-GTX-780 Just to be clear on that, Nvidia seems to be faster in most of today's games according to the info here. Either way you chose it'll be fine. Not all games support Mantle, and Mantle seems to benefit low to mid-range cards the most. If you are planning on 4K gaming, then by all means get the 4GB R9 290/290X's.
Thanks for the reply Ghost... Iam not sure what would look better either 3 x 1920x1080 in eyefinity or Nvidia surround or just 1 4k monitor? The R9s are alot cheeper to find used but I like having phys x option for some of the games We play. In a ideal world we would have both right lol?
