Effective October 2021, Game Ready Driver upgrades, including performance enhancements, new features, and bug fixes, will be exclusively available for systems utilizing Windows 10 as their operating system. Critical security updates will be available on systems utilizing Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 through September 2024.

    A: August 31, 2021 (R470 GA5)

This is the only way for all engineers. Two OS versions to work with is enough. Windows 10 and 11.

Windows 10 doesn't exist as it is either according to what you're thinking. Windows 10 1507 isn't exactly the same as 21H2 at the moment.

The 22000 dev build is rumored to be Win11, possibly to be released this year (alongside Win10 21H2). But rumors are confusing right now for sure.

Well, I believe Windows 11 will be a reality as a service.

Microsoft ditched YYMM builds with YYHY and now perhaps the next step is a total change for next updates.

I never talked about a whole new OS as we knew it.

There was logistical reasons for doing that, big updates are going to resume at some point.

    lol, yeah no.
A few websites went straight to conspiracy theorys and crafted an idea that windows 11 is happening, there is no word of it within microsoft (on the grapevine or otherwise).

By the way Microsoft could make billions by introducing new OS version asking for a new activation key sometime at the future. Easy way for further grow despite being a giant already. They are mostly a SAAS company.

A new Windows (codename Sun Valley) on an Annual Channel (rather than Semy Annual as it used to be for Win10), slated for 21H2 release with build number 22000 (a build already released as Alpha version for the XBox). So, it looks like we get a new Windows indeed and fairly soon (probably very soon for testing).

Microsoft will end Windows 10 support on October 14th, 2025, this is old news. So it's time to release a new version sooner rather than later. Whatever they will name it. Only logical for Nvidia to stop supporting the even older versions by now as well. It's not as if your stuff will stop working, you just wont get further new updates.

Bout time i sure people rage over this though.

then again it gona start with win10 which was suppoed to be LAST verison of windows and everything going forward was ment to be Build improved upon win 10, which only reason I really forced most people to adopt windows 10 cause it was gona be last one and just get update from then on.

I do hope win 11 is just renaming of win 10

I wont care much if i cant "upgrade" from windows 10 to 11 for free like with win 7/8 to win 10. but i garuentee i know alot people that will never do the switch less it comes with a pc they buy new

At this point we have no idea if Windows 11 will cost anything MS hasn't officially announced anything, at this point all we have is just a leaked build. It could just be there is enough new features and architectural changes in Win 11 that's new that MS just wanted to brand it as Win 11 to differentiate the update. Compared to just naming it Windows 10 22H1 or something to that extent.

Some insiders say that the so called leaked build contains the same as a current dev channel release, I thrust their word more than some random author from neowin.
Which also could indicate that someone has major fun with the hype a rebranded insider build created.
