Open Issues in Version 516.93 WHQL

• [RTX 30 series] PC monitor may not wake from display sleep when GPU is also connected to an HDMI 2.1 TV, and the TV is powered off. [3645633]
• Toggling HDR on and off in-game causes game stability issues when non-native resolution is used. [3624030]
• Videos played back in Microsoft Edge may appear green if NVIDIA Image Scaling is enabled upon resuming from hibernate or booting with fastboot. [3624218]

Seems ok so far. First studio driver I've seen on the main download page though.

 

Not interested in studio driver

 

It's basically the same driver with a different subset of fixes / features highlighted...
This one have an older version of HD Audio driver in it than the .79 hotfix though.

 

So basically (solely?) fixes already contained by the hotfix driver, but way higher version number. Wouldn't be surprised if we see it labeled as GRD with some more fixes listed in a few hours, but still exact same driver version number. Which would demonstrate how silly this different labeling of same drivers is. You could almost be under the impression that this is just some marketing stunt to mask the necessity of an "LTS" driver, as new branches have too many regressions (like first 516.xx driver demonstrated in an impressive way)...

 

Apart from support for Chaos V-Ray 6 in 3ds Max the fixed issues are most probably not impressive for a Studio driver at all.

Messy to use these two lines after each other:

First line is about the driver, second about the software but in the way it is presented it gives the impression to apply to the driver instead.

 

Same branch as 516.79, guys, so it contains the hotfixes, plus the stated support for Chaos V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max. Rolling back to the previous HD audio driver was also a wise decision.

Why? Not really seeing any issues (or improvements) with the new version.

 

Im not updating until we get spiderman game ready drivers.

Decent drivers, no issues to report!

 

These drivers work fine for me on W11 with Oculus Link and some games. Relatively boring

 

Been using this for a couple days, no real issues seems fine. I did roll back the hd audio driver & usbc (physx was the same) to the more recent ones installed from the insider driver.

Mostly encode video & use topaz products...no issues on either front with this driver.

 

It seems like people are having at least as many issues with the hotfix HD Audio driver as the previous one, if not more so, so I'm avoiding it to be safe. Interesting that they didn't include it in this Studio driver.

I have no positive experience with studio drivers so i wait with full patience for GRD drivers,
in fact i have no troubles with the 516.59 and Destiny 2 runs fine no hotfix needed....

 

Its true that games are becoming boring the genius of creativity is dead

 

If you ware using an rtx and dlss card you'd probably want the latest hotfix.
