In a now deleted tweet, it seems that the release dates of the next gen RTX GPUs will be somewhere in the third quarter of 2020 for the RTX3070 and RTX3080, and Q4 2020 for the RTX 3080Ti, as for the 3060 should be released by Q1 2021. It's expected by a lot of people already, that the new RTX would be released somewhere in the summer, this tweet did not have any specific month, but target dates by quarter. The most interesting part are obviously the specs, where a 3070 could be close in performance to a RTX2080Ti. Source
If this is real then wow the 3080Ti is nearly double a 3080 stupid that the gap is so big but probably so will the price
The reason the tweet was deleted was because Chia, its author had copied it from a Chinese publication which he quickly found to be fake.
i concluded the same after some digging. the numbers of the tensor and rt cores don't match how they would scale within a gpc within an sm
after the 1200+ usd I spent on my 2080ti at launch, i'm not really hyped about getting a new one already. Probably is just me.

Right now, "overpriced" isn't even the proper term anymore. I don't know what to call it at this point. A brand new, regular non-Ti GTX 1080 sells for $1,000 on Newegg.ca (yeah, that's in Canadian dollars), and believe it or not that's pretty much among the lowest prices you can find. That's about $750 USD. Heck, I'm still seeing GTX 980s between $550 and $580 CAN. These prices will stay like this for probably another year. I can't think of the prices I'll see popping up around when the RTX 3080 / Ti comes out. I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches a new level, $2,000 for just a non-Ti RTX 3080 is definitely going to happen. I was looking for an upgrade this year actually, around September (for Cyberpunk mostly), even if I "just" want something like a 2070 Super I still need to be prepared to spend about $900 for it; which of course is completely out of question.
I recently purchased a 2070S and 1440p monitor. In hindsight I should have gone 5700xt and pocketed the savings. But, I can’t complain about the quality of the product as it never goes above 62C at full load and is buttery smooth. I love and hate Nvidia. Hopefully AMD can put on some real pressure in this market segment.
I still have a 1070 and I'll be waiting on price of either the 3070 or 3060 and the performance of each card then I'll make my decision.
