As an RTX 3090 owner I feel wronged by these graphs. Not that I ever plan to play Overwatch 2, mind you, but at least an acknowledgement of where my card stacks up would have been nice!

    The 3090 is oddly missing.

    Probably between the 3080/4080 results.
I am personally not very excited about high FPS counts in game in the hundreds.
The measure of low FPS is what I have more interest in.

Your card stands in a place of inconvenience to Nvidia tests, so they "forgot" to include it.

More bullshit from Nvidia marketing department. 4k series cards could be in reviewers' hands at this point, launch is only a week away but instead Nvidia chooses to pretend like there's some reason the NDA exists, pretend like there's some reason they can't possibly get these people cards for proper testing and use that artificial amount of time where they get to control the information space to poison it with carefully selected nonsense.

Even curated as it is, this is an embarrassing slide for them. Note that the 3080ti and 3090s aren't included and why not? Because you can find them for less than the MSRP of the 4070, but they're faster cards.

The tech media should just get together and refuse Nvidia marketing slides. Company's marketing department is a joke.

Yes, it's "strange" to say the least that they included top tier RTX 4000 series cards like 4090 and the true 4080 and no 3080Ti/3090/3090Ti

Because as @Reardan said - it would be embarrassing. The 4070 would be slower than a 3090 that's cheaper and that would be story.

I have expectations of a great performance jump for the 4000 series but now I`m getting the feeling that the 4000 series are going to be a disaster...

It still can be. The 4090 is a huge jump in performance.. about what you'd expect from a regular release. Make that card $1200. Take the 4080 16GB and make it $700. Take the 4070 and make it a 4070 at $500.

    Lineup is fixed.

Problem is the cost/naming/marketing bullshit they are trying to pull here.. probably because they have such a severe stock of 3000's they need to clear. The 4070 is the biggest joke ever. It should be completely shamed and shunned until Nvidia either renames it with a price drop or recalls it and issues an apology from the leather jacket in real life and a 3d version rendered on a replacement.

Yeah and no mention ever of 1% lows which also matter a lot, sure it can reach 500 but i'm guessing if i drops randomly to 200 the eye will surely notice a big drop like that even though its still an insanely high number

Though I agree, great I go from 250 to 480... so glad I spent money on a 1440p 200hz screen so i can see all those extra frames.... /s

Overwatch 2 can run on a potato, what Nvidia really needs to show is Quake 1 OPENGLICD performance at 640x480.

After more than 2 years, a full node jump and such high TDPs, i was expecting something closer to 100% performance uplift, but apparently i`ve been daydreaming...

As for the 4080s debacle, i think there`s nothing else to say.

nVidia keeps making the same typo for some odd reason, 4080 12GB doesn't exist, it should say "4070".

I care about Overwatch 2 (bare in mind, I bought OW 1 and played it for around 500 hours) as much as I care for nVidia marketing and as much as I care for 4000 series GPUs.

Spoiler: I uninstalled OW2. You need to give your phone number to Blizzard to play it and Id rather not give that company my phone number, and not give nVidia my money.
The game is basically overwatch 1.1, with intrusive privacy violations, hilariously expensive microtransactions ... kinda like nVidia GPUs!

wow the disparity between the 4090 and 4080 is quite large.
