Coming from 260.99 drivers (didn't have any issues actually, just wanted to try these new drivers), I installed the 265.90 drivers without problem, ran WEI where I had 7.6 for both Graphics and Gaming graphics.
After driver installation:
Whatever it is, it can't be a bad thing.
cool that works on your MSI 460 on my palits dont either way 260.99 score hella good
Try not removing your old drivers, don't do a clean install or w/e. Just extract the driver, replace the .inf file, load the setup again and let it install, reboot, worked for me
Any idea where I can find a Quadro driver with the inf already in it? If not how do i add inf? Is the Quadro series of driver ok with 480s in SLI? Thank you for help.
Just use the inf from the WHQL driver, no need to download someone else's modded one.
The Quadro works perfect with GTX460's in SLI so i would imagine it will be no different wiht 480's, but every PC is different, so you won't know unless you try.
thanks mate im on SLI and did all and have horrible screen flashes and BSOD
not for me mate...how did you install them ? plz post what you did maybe i went wrong
OMFG i recently went back to using XP and tried out these drivers , i will report back some news soon, but i am getting amazing performance. XP is still faster than win7 and its 2010 lol
Extract 260.99 and 265.90, either with WinRar, or by starting the installs, and cancelling it after the installer has extracted, folders should be the below if you picked the second way, and if you are using Windows7 x64
Now replace NV_DISP.INF in C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\265.90\Vista 64-bit\International\Display.Driver, with the one from 260.99.
Sorry if it sounds abit dumbed down and patronising, just trying to be thorough.
But this has worked fine for me on 2 64bit W7 partitions, and one
cool so basically using the inf from the ones im using now...
OK redemption just tried all, and i get a black screen and PC reboots...same behaviour...
i also trying as sdnly said and same...
this on a new W7x64 HDD i have...
Other than installing Driver Sweeper and using that, im not sure what else would help unfortunately, sorry, nature of the beast that is PC hardware.
I have heard people say 265.66 is similar to these but have less issues for some people, but i havn't checked this myself.
well i talked some weeks ago with Palit Support to warn them about this issue, maybe you dont know but when 260.xxx drivers appear we had all red screen upon boot and they released a new firmware to correct the issue, but they told me that 265.90 wasnt released for the card but for quadro, they promised to talk to nvidia and test but i didnt had any feedback, they will wait till nvidia release the unified one or another new drivers for sure.
thanks a lot for your help mate
cheers from South America
so i presume you used International 265.90 driver and international INF for it?
btw; using old inf from a different driver and not changing anything = bad idea.
you can try this one
i just made it now (win7 x64 int - 265.90) and the link for international version
and if its still the same then try: 263.06tesla int., it has the same boost as 265.90.
ive just done a clean windows wipe and now cant get hold of the 265.90 drviers for win7 x64 anyone help me here their not on nvidias site or links in post one not working
i like these drviers
yes i tried on a W7x64 fresh install all methods
1) international + modded inf
2) english + modded inf
3) the method i just did (inf from 260.99)
didnt tried tesla, do they need a special inf ?
thanks a lot
check my post again, i've edited it: I added my own modded INF(used 263.06 nfo) for international 265.90 + driver link.. well i did the same for another member with Win XP 64, he had 460gtx sli too and he said it worked fine by him..
as for Tesla
no you dont need to modd it has all up to 500 series or including 500 series.
thanks for your effort i will try tesla first and report back
^^ lol i read the link above for the nvidia driver thread and there some serious nerd rage in that forum :wanker: anyhow, whats the problem with the latest WHQL anyway? Im using it and no issues with my card. It didnt have issues with my GTX 260 too
