hey, I was wrong it was 32xS I was running with and not CSAA. I tried the "updated" version of NPI and no luck still. I have a 2080.

ouch that seems painful. any setting I apply to windows update reverses on its own the second it starts downloading an update (it also downloads any time it wants, it's so annoying)
I don't actually know what my previous drivers were either. But I guess I'm bound to do that

I just checked and indeed the 32xS mode is not working on my 1080Ti, but all other SS + MS AA modes are still working. I though Nvidia axed those archaic mixed AA modes together with CSAA, after Kepler.

 

"Circle around your character" does sound like an LOD, mipmapping, or some other texture filtering issue (especially if it started with a specific driver, they have changed things over the years regarding 'trilinear optimization').

Yes good Sir. It happens in every game. Changed CPU, Mobo and GPU but didn't do anything.

 

Those are Hybrid Sampling modes and they still work, provided you have an applicable compatibility flag for a DX9 game. They don't do jack squat in other backends unless the game has MSAA support built in however.

Scrolling bug is not present. Everything looks good.

Well, Nvidia have semi-killed it with stupid 3rd party tool NVAPI restrictions and new features like that crap sharpen that aren't exposed at all. They will surely continue pursuing down that road of assery...

Don't get me wrong I don't want an argument, but it seems to hurt that he has more knowledge, there are some things I don't agree with him but there is no need to hate or disrespect.

So.. which is the currently "main/original/best" NvidiaProfileInspector? The 3.x.x.x fork (which seems to have plenty of adware/malware download sources; not the original 3.x version itself, it just seems to have been picked up by adware/malware b*stards) or Orbmu's 2.3.x.x fork?

I've been using 3.0.0.0 for quite a while and the only issue I've come upon so far is an exception error when I disable both P2 and Ansel at the same time in the global profile when I press apply. If I disable P2 state -> press Apply -> disable Ansel -> press Apply, it works just fine. A bit weird though. I left the 2.3.x.x-series simply because the github page states that it's updated to support R460 (which I interpret as the 460-series of drivers) which is quite old these days.

 

If there was anything requiring an update in drivers beyond that, Orbmu2k would add them.

 

Afaik the forked version by FoulPlay is the most current Version. Last Update was yesterday to latest NVidia API R520:

The older 2.3.x.x Version by Orbmu works also fine. I for myself prefer to use newer APIs instead of legacy ones.

 

Theres actually no newer api's added to foulplays releases, the API is in the driver and exposes the values to profile inspector which displays them regardless of version.
