It's hard to trust either side though, the 970 situation annoyed alot of people, but obviously not enough to take a chance and switch to AMD.

DX12, if anything has made me even more dubious about AMD, all it has done so far is highlight how poor DX11 was, and that they went years without properly supporting their customers.

Was it not 4/5 years ago Capcom and ironically the Civilization devs who complained about MT in drivers.

Dont we forget, that we are taking as a fact one post from AMD favourite studio with PR contract with AMD, and one sentence from AMD TechPR person. On the other hand we have benchmarks from independent developers, which already call it in to question. Of course, if you dont trust nvidia their spec.

It would be very foolish to make decisions in this state of information.

They aren't supposed to be good though.

They only exist to make as much money as possible from us all.

True, they're both awful, but the reason I have a Fury X is because of The Witcher 3, I have a GTX670, and got screwed over. I can see a company being Dbags on their competitor, but to screw over their customers.

And I actually thought I was buying an underperforming card (HBM being the only advantage) because I did do my research on the Fury X and knew exactly what I was getting, while the GTX980ti was advertised as fully DX12 or at the very least was led to believe so.

Nvidia got me so mad that I thought I was buying a "compliant" DX12 card as opposed to a real DX12 card and conciously made that choice too.

If win10 had been released last year I would agree with you. That isn't the case though and win10 has only just been released. Notice there are zero dx12 games?

If we look at dx11 performance (which is the only relevant dx right now) and overclocked performance the picture is Nvidia hand's down. DX12 is all speculation right now. If the dev in question chooses to cripple NVidia performance, then, that'll surely backfire. It actually doesn't matter much what AMD's cards supports, they will just alienate a large portion of the market in which Nvidia users will avoid their game.

Bravo for them calling Nvidia out, but, I don't think it's going to work in their favour as they're basically telling NVidia users not to buy their game.

    agree..

That's why I never really try to take sides, and always criticise both if they're trying to pull some bs, although AMD isn't doing it so much as nv lately.

Imho they both should focus more on making better drivers and not all this PR crap.

I don't think I had a card of either side :nerd:
that truly benefitted from a new dx release remember amd had made claims with dx10 about NVidia not having featues of it.
I think they were right but it made not much difference in the long run now did it?
funny the guy said they worked more closely with NVidia
I think in a year we can put it in the "and we gave a sht about this?"column
what I don't get is why guys come off a fact finders with an agenda....because 100% of the time someone can make fault of whatever you want to mention.
its them saying the way they do it is the only way, which I find fault in.

Isn't this the same Oxide Games that created the "Star Swarm" benchmark? My memory isn't the greatest, but wasn't that benchmark geared specifically to focus on only a few things AMD cards do particularly well while running mantle?

    edit\

Ahh... i remember. It was to show how much better mantle and AMD was due to DirectX 11 being a poor performer when doing draw calls. Does anyone think they'll update that benchmark for DX12 since it wont have issues with draw calls? Personally, I doubt they will since the benchmark was made specifically to give a false impression of performance.

Umm... yea. So how bout that Bulldozer? Steamroller? or every other overhyped AMD product where they lied like crazy about performance prior to release only to leave their fanboys upset, depressed, and saying "i'll buy it when it's on sale".

You just don't understand it at all do you.
Nothing gave a false impression it gave the perfect example if you stopped to read what it was all about.
Nvid are actually holding pc`s back. Hurry up and design a new gpu so developers don't have to worry about your weak design.
