Disable all GFE services and open it only when streaming-recording-upgrading drivers as i Do.
Or just wait few minutes and download driver posted here on Guru3D! :D

Seriously, the way some people go half assed on this is hysterical. Nvidia mining me oh no, meanwhile they are googling their lives away.

This doesn't bother me at all really, never had any issues with GFE, I just install it and forget it's there.

Makes you wonder if nVidia will disable custom install for drivers at the same time as well.

I have SLI 970's and they perform great at 1440p what games are you talking about? Unless your trying to push a stupid resolution across triple monitors which in my book is just silly unless its a racing game.

You are NOT alone! I HATE having to download these huge files (broadband in my area is not very broad at all) full of garbage (to me) extract it all, figure out what parts are junk and what is needed and delete the bloat (everything but driver/NV12/PhysX) before install.

I want a video card driver, not NvidiaOS© including drivers.

    I tried it.

Softlocked my PC when attempting to test out the 1080p60 streaming support.

Then later in the day my browser crashed, DWM crashed, then my system bluescreened with an error I haven't seen before.

    Uninstalled immediately.

Good thing it's becoming mandatory for driver updates.

This sickens me to no end.

They made it free too so the backlash would be minimal; totally covered their ass and ruined things for people who want to stay on 7, just like they did for Vista. (Difference being Vista actually got DX11; now DX12 is locked when it's the API to use for all games going forward)

For my uses, Windows 7 is perfect.

W8 and 10 have both failed to offer anything new while completely breaking what wasn't broken.

I do a lot of audio production on my Windows PC and there is not a single thing W8 and W10 can do for this that W7 doesn't do.

I don't own an Android/Apple phone and the only thing that I use that could track me is FireFox. /shrug

I'll dual boot W10 eventually when it's mature enough and there are enough worthwhile DX12 exclusives.
(And I hope more games use Vulkan instead. Doesn't require W10)

There is only one thing that would get me to dual boot W10 now. A DX12 release of the entire Halo series including Halo 5.

But Microsoft is already hurting for exclusives on their underpowered **** box so that won't happen.

Those same people you mention already have GFE anyway. It's installed by default unless you do a custom install.

Exactly, people are free to install GFE if they desire to do so.
But it doesn't make any sense to force everybody to use it.

That's exactly it though, the majority of 'power users' if you want, do a custom install and uncheck everything not necessary, 3D stuff, and GFE

Sounds like you have an OS problem or have a hardware issue with faulty overclocks. What was the BSOD code?

Now we have people saying they are using dumb/flip phones to get around the fact that they are being hypocritical on what is tracking them? Along with "the only reason to install Win10 with DX12 is a release of a console series" Real hardcore "power users" we have here. :infinity::infinity::infinity:

  16. This, exactly! The PC platform is all about choice. This move to make game-ready drivers only available through GFE is only offering less choice. If this happens, I fully expect that someone will upload the game-ready drivers found in GFE install folder.

"Nvidia said that more than 90 percent of GeForce owners update their drivers through GeForce Experience anyway,........."

90% is probably pushing it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of Nvidia users upgraded through GFE only because it's easier to do with one button click.
