Because it's not officially released yet. As with most things from nvidia, things are leaked some time before release. I love it! :D

Check the 177.83 beta thread for that.

The 177.83 includes the PhysX 8.08.01, don't waste you bandwidth. ;)

What about 177.79? Do I need to install this if I have 177.79 installed?
    Nevermind downloading 177.83 now :)

On my 8800GTX, this tells me I have 'No AGEIA PhysX Processor Installed'. Also, if I try to click on one of the demos, it tells me:

DirectX 9.0 installed (589824). Requires DirectX 9.0c (October 2006) or later.

I am running Windows Vista x64, so I don't understand exactly what that means. I've installed this from the WHQL package, not standalone. I've also uninstalled the driver, rebooted in Safe Mode and ran DriverCleanerPro and DriverSweeper, rebooted and reinstalled, but nothing seems to be taking care of the problem.

Am I doing something wrong? I've not tried any previous versions of PhysX, so I might be missing something.

It was for me. Must have been a bug. Though if it's not, just extract it from the driver installer with Winrar or similar. No need to download it twice. :)

I'm also getting this problem. Keeps saying No AGEIA PhysX Processor Installed even though I installed 177.83. Not sure what's going on. 8800 GTS not supported or what???

because your card is NOT an Ageia processor, it's a GeForce video card. check the other tab, it will have 2 options and one grayed out. No acceleration and GeForce PhysX
