    I`ll tell you where he got the performance increase.He made the drivers fall back to shader model 2.0a if you check your 3dmark 2005 on the opitons menu where the PS and the VS versions are displayed you`ll see that it is 2_a and if you chek your MOST WANTED game in the advanced graphics you`ll notice that you cannot move the shadow indicator and the rain effect is off for good so i sujest these drivers to not be recomended for Shader Model 3.0 VGA`s

    hi gga :)

    not bad these drivers although i had to manage whole day to get the best driver settings in profiles.
    best results at all optimizers on , neg. Lod bias off or set to 1,125-1,25.

    nice boost in AQ03, 3D2001, but worse in 3d2005.

    benchmarks :

    with 81.86 on 5900xt
    3D2001 = 13490
    3D2003 = 5611
    AQM03 = 39456
    3D2005 = 1156

    with 81.89 on 5900xt
    3D2001 = 13402
    3D2003 = 5612
    AQM03 = 39298
    3D2005 = 1205

    with 81.94 on 5900xt
    3D2001 = 13473
    3D2003 = 5624
    AQM03 = 39521
    3D2005 = 1203

    with 81.94 apocalypse
    3D2001 = 13524
    3D2003 = 5627
    AQM03 = 39592
    3D2005 = 1157

    with 81.95 whql on 5900xt
    3D2001 = 13561
    3D2003 = 5628
    AQM03 = 39606
    3D2005 = 1201

    But i wouldnt try it on my main high-pc because all settings in drivers could be changed to these scores manually with nhancer.
    ciao- finito-yeti :)

    i recommend the new 81.95 whql which gave me new records.

    the benchmarks results of my 1rst main pc with 6800gt at :

    Installed and it seems relatively good. I can't really compare as I've previously used the 77.77's with my 6600GT which is the sweet spot. Do you have tweaked drivers for this sir?

    SM3.0 is currently used in a large number of more recent games, so if your card supports it, that's a definate thing to consider. Games as far back as Splinter Cell Chaos Theory have been using it. It's largely used for rain, shadows, water, glass, and lighting. Just a little info to help those deciding. It comes down to the age old decision of "eye candy" or "framerates". This decision leans over towards "framerates at any expense"
