Dont see why it would damage the reputation. Allot of games run crap at launch in case you havent noticed. this is no different.

Nvidia sales will also be slower because that awesome game program where you get the game for free and 2 other games. its not just this problem that causes slow sales.

Are you arguing for the sake of it?
That has no effect on what is happening due to the code and driver issues.
I could say that sales will be less because of the recession, but it has nothing to do with what is being discussed.

How do you know that old code was perfect?

Now its like they're helpless and need more time, also all the sudden TR needs to have gpu specific adjustments.

Im just saying all these things could have been avoided by both AMD and NV, especially by such major game titles.

this is not a simple problemes of performance or bugs .. its the fact that the game is unplayable with "max settings" with nvidia 600 series the gamer freeze all time and you need hard reset each time !!! there is no title sponsorised with nvidia who freeze on amd cards its always about low performance or bugs or texture fleckring .. ect
this is why nvidia apologize this time , the game is unplayable on his top line cards !!!!

Well not everyone has to agree with you , you know. people may have different opinions. and you quoted me, not the other way around.
you say its gonna be slow sales, well i wonder that. it sold more then 1 million copies in 48 hours time. its a great game, and i expect it to do very well.

How does anyone know any code is perfect?!
You can only use what you are given, if you arent given the latest code and dont know there is a newer code to ask for it, how can you use it??

Yes, they could have been avoided if they had released the latest code to NVidia.
They had no trouble giving it to AMD.
AND, they released a bugged game anyway that required a major patch after release.

None of that is NVidias fault.
None of that could be changed by NVidia.

That's no "fix". Its a whole new feature.

ID Tech does its virtual textures on CPU. That extension permits doing it directly on the GPU without previous mojo involved. nVidia cards lack such functionality.

I don't think it actually made it to Rage besides that demo. And I've read that AMD's implementation is based on some research by Pixar if im not mistaken.

It reminds me of the Black Ops 2 launch, when i couldnt play for weeks.
i could only play 45 mins or so before it crashed. (online)
single player i could only play the first mission.

Because what you said was wrong.
Thats what happens when someone points out your error.

Logic isnt your thing and you infer things that arent correct :)
Do you think sales wont be slowed down when there are performance problems and really bad bugs?

Can you point out where I said it isnt a great game?
Can you point out where I said it wont do very well?

What I said is that initial sales will be slower due to the problems.
Initial sales are used as a benchmark of a games success, so they will be disappointed if initial sales are slower.

Nvidia uses cuda to speed up this functionality - gpu transcode.

fine keep defending it, i agree with Witelighting on this one.

    Care to answer the points.
Your answers so far have no merit, including this last one.

I say its nvidia fault. You say its developers.
    Let's leave it at that.

I've pointed out that it cant be NVidias problem but you havent answered the points.

Have you ever been a developer or written drivers?
How often should NVidia ask if there is a code update?
Should they continually wait to see if there is a code update before writing a driver?

Surely game developers are aware that people are split between AMD and Nvidia on graphic cards and should really program the game to run on hardware from both manufacturers? I'm surprised they don't lose out on sales because of this backwards idea.

Well the steam sales show it at 3rd spot, G2play has it at top spot, amazon at 4th place, GMG at 6th,not exactly slowing sales.

Can you prove it is slowing sales ?

Its not like no one can play the game, i have completed the game already and lots of others have too if you check the tomb raider thread.

Dont need to insult me btw with logic isnt my thing. Who the hell do you think you are ?

Almost every game has launch problems this is no different. does it effect it ? no it doesnt.
Sim city is nr1 at GMG atm for instance.

"Can you point out where I said it isnt a great game?
Can you point out where I said it wont do very well?"

No i cant, because i never said you did say that, so dont know why you state this tbh.

See ? it doesnt state your opinion but mine.

I all read from your quotes was, its not nvidia fault and I luv them now because they say we are sorry.

And for the 4th time, Im saying they should have asked more, not just 1-2 times and then right before game release.

    Im done here. :p

You honestly have to question this?
I can tell you that I havent bought it yet because I'm waiting for the issues to be fixed.
Do you think I am the only one?

That has nothing to do with this, its to do with the quality of the experience.
I am pointing out to you that your arguments are not logical, this is another example.

If logic isnt your thing, its best to leave it to those who are able to apply it.
I am pointing out that what you said is incorrect, because it is incorrect.
Why argue when you cant rationalise?
Its not good to leave incorrect information up on a public forum.
I should be asking who you think you are giving me a hard time correcting what you wrote.

Erm, if all you look at is a sales figure with no consideration for what it could be.
Have you read what is wrong with this game?
The problems are pretty serious for some people.
If you are only looking at your own experience and arguing that there is no issue for everyone else because of what happened to you, you should be embarrassed.

Many games sell well initially based upon reputation of previous releases under the same name.
Take a look at the number of pre-orders as well.
That has nothing to do with quality, yet you quoted it as an example.
Clearly sales will suffer once problems become known.

    Because you brought it up!
Dont bring things up that are nothing to do with the discussion.

Your opinion isnt based on logical reasoning and has been demonstrated to be incorrect.
