    1. Blame the user
    2. Blame the user
    3. Reference to GN video, and blame the user
    4. ???
    5. Profit
    6. Potentially improve the design? Nah. Let's just blame the user.
    7. Say it's only 50 cases globally...

They are blaming the user, but still stated all damage caused by the power cable/connector issue will be covered by warranty, so in the end Nvidia is bearing the responsibility for using a connector that wasn't tested thoroughly during development.

Design wasn't fool proof enough, which can happen when rolling out new things. The problem with lab testing is that ... you make sure it's done properly, and even then, lots of people were trying deliberately to make them fail without success.
Now they are going to review the design and not be assholes on the warranty for user responsibility in this... which they legally could have done. They probably going to need reschedule production of all products and scramble with the new plug production and probably do a recall of what's in stock but not distributed cause no one wants to be responsible in any shape of form to a fire hazard and see a house / building catching fire because of this :)
It's not going to be a cheap for them but i think they charged enough, they should be ok XD

I still don't get why a so huge GPU needed a smaller power connector. Smaller GPUs may need it to fit in smaller cases instead.

hahahahaha yes sure, by years we connect 2 or even 3 connectors with 6 or 8 pins each, but now with 12 pins we don´t know how do that again

Nvidia may be right about this but it sounds so bad in the end...

Even worse, it's hard to connect the damn thing properly when the cards have gigantic coolers!...

So they really are going with "You're holding it wrong". At least they seem to be honoring and expediting RMAs, which is pretty much all you can do short of accepting blame and opening yourself up to multiple lawsuits. Proposed redesign all but confirms they're all aware it's a flaw.

Dear Nvidia, design something that doesn't have issues at all.

Or the plug is completely undersized for that much electrical current. Or even more likely, the crappy cards consume way too much power under full load no matter which plug is attached in that undersized plug design.

Honoring RMAs and doing revisions to the connector tells you pretty much that they accept blame and understand its their fault. Question is, why design such small factor connector in the first place? The new cards are bigger all the time.

It took youtubers many weeks to replicate the error, they underestimated how dumb some users are

RTX 4090 is a Beast!....is it really the fastest gaming graphics card on Earth?

Got to warm up to hold the throne!...I've made up my mind!...I want one...:D

(on a side note): will a stock 8700k run it?...

Nvidia are just the most annoying anti-consumer company these days, I think maybe more than EA.

Yeah the connector works fine but is basically faulty as it's easy to 90% plug in and think it's fine whilst starting a fire.
Blame everyone else but then state that they will cover it under warranty due to fear of legal repercussion.
Finally, suggestions that they're going to be changing the connector design, despite the fact that "It's perfect already".

    I say, Nvidia - F*** YOU!

This affected 0.04% users of RTX 4090 cards sold yet folks are having a worse meltdown than the connectors.

I can easily plug it in with a native 12vhpwr just holding the braided cables, not even the plastic connector lol

In the end they are humans not machines despite what some may think and humans make errors. They are replacing the cards for the people who had problems - which they should, end of story.

No Wonder EVGA Dropped them..........I remember when they(EVGA)blamed me for a dead P55 socket and I knew it wasn't me. They lost my money and trust, now they finally had to wake up to the fact that sticking it to the consumer comes at a price..........

Basically there cards are three times the price of what a GPU used to cost(before market adjustment). Its gonna be a TOASTY Winter this year, I may pick one up used to fix it.........
