While we're at it, I install over older drivers, don't have any problems with 290.36

When i switched from AMD to nVidia i simply reinstalled Windows, that's pretty much the best thing to do. Fresh start :)

I had issues with the last beta set crashing and restarting in just TF2 using window mode so I could work on stuff while testing scripts and sure enough I go back to the old and it was fine - this was using a 430 card. Now running the new beta on a 570 and it works fine no issues so I don't know what to tell ya..but yeah I hope this one doesn't give that issue on the 430.

285.79 & 290.36 are horrible for me in BF3. Especially with the Back to Karkand maps, was seeing frequent drops to 25-30fps.

I've had to go back to 285.62 as those are the only drivers that run BF3 smoothly for me. With these I get 50-60fps constant and on most maps I don't even drop below 60fps.

I hope whatever drivers Nvidia releases keeps the good BF3 performance from 285.62 and also Skyrim performance.

It's individual dependent really, some people are having problems, other's aren't, I'm not having problems with 290.36 and haven't seen much of a difference in the last 3 drivers, except for certain bug fixes.
Need to try them for yourself :p

The 290.36 is pretty solid. Sorry it broke your Witcher 2 , and you had to revert back to 285 WHQL....

Are these new Christmas drivers finally going to have FXAA option and FPS Limiter in nvpanel ?

Anyone knowing such information would be prevented from disclosing it (NDA).

If we get an official r295 release before Christmas, obviously there's a good chance we'll see those features.

Must be your setup, because 290.36 works wonderful for me. Have yet to encounter issues.

I play just BF3 and I had 285.79 and prior B2K exp. my gpu's were used on 99% all the time. After they released B2K it's around 75 - 85 % :( , which causes my fps to drop.

I have tried with 290.36, but it's the same. Do you think this is driver related or BF3?

    My rig: sli 580 @ i5 2500K 4.1 Ghz

Yah its this driver, i get the best BF3 performance on 285.62 or 285.66. The 290.xx drivers just aren't as smooth for BF3.

I hope this driver is going to be optimized towards Star Wars The Old Republic, at least in some degree.

nVIDIA and EA does normally have a good relationship, bringing optimized drivers to the table rather fast and I hope this is the case with SWToR as well..

Playing SWToR on 1920x1080@120Hz on a overclocked GTX580 with a Intel Core i7-980x @ 4.0GHz and only seeing around 60/70 to 110 FPS in-game is somewhat disappointing considering the graphics quality in this game and the fact that there is no working anti-aliasing implemented as of yet.

Games like this, considering GTX580 bring a steady 60FPS+ in Skyrim with everything on ultra settings even with 4x anti-aliasing activated should provide a steady 100 FPS+ with ease on such high-end systems, but I guess not?

You can of course force anti-aliasing with nvidiainspector or just modify the client_settings of SWToR and add "AntiAliasingLevel = X" X being the amount of anti-aliasing you wish to active but it's obvious why EA and Bioware has left this option out from the current client as even 2-4x anti aliasing kills performance giving me an FPS dropping down to 25-35 FPS at times and even though it peaks at 65-70 FPS it's way unstable dropping below 45 FPS WAY TO OFTEN considering the power within a GTX580 and the graphics quality of this game.

Hopefully a optimized driver might make things a little bit better and more efficient, it's dreadful seeing nvidiainspector reporting the game only use like 80-85 of my GTX580 and no where near 100%?

    EDIT:

Unfortunately this game features some of the worst tearing and pixelised edges I've seen in a game for quite a while, so the lack of anti-aliasing that wont kill your performance is painful.
