Nvidia has a pretty strong lineup ever since last year, and with the recent Vega release from AMD we do not expect massive movements with new products this year. However the one product series that co...

Interesting,Why not also do a 1060ti? Or do they have those already I am getting old cannot keep-up with this stuff anymore. Sure miss my 660 ti it was a Hell of a card in my opinion.

well, they can do whatever they want for as long as they want now that there's officially no competition. AMD showed their hand and they were bluffing.

At this point in time I think it's safer to save that money for Volta.

ok...since the 1070 is slightly less powerful than a 980ti, a 1070ti would be the same but with less power consumption?

Maybe 1070ti will be around 1080 performance and they will drop 1070 and 1080 hopefully with price reductions 1070ti priced at 1070 and 1080ti priced nearer 1080

This would be so unnecessary. Between Vega, 1070, 980Ti and 1080 that segment is already packed. It would lead to more confusion than good for people that don't live and breathe tech like we do. It would end up looking like 1070OC=1070Ti stock, 1070TiOC=1080stock, 980TiOC=1070Ti stock, Vega 56=1070 stock/980Ti stock, Vega56OC=1070OC,1080 stock and 980TiOC! Super helpful to cram more GPU's where we don't need them.

If there was no competition, why would they do anything at all? Just look at what Intel did for years when AMD was sitting on its hands: Nothing at all, just the same old crap under a new name time after time.

The market works best when there's always a better choice available if you are willing to put in a bit more money. If you need to invest 150 more, it's a lot and many customers wouldn't, but if you only need to dig your wallet for less than hundred bucks more, it doesn't feel as impossible. On the other hand at this point it won't cost Nvidia anything extra to actually manufacture the 1070Ti GPU. With the rising VRAM costs there's pressure to increase the video card prices throughout the whole range, which means 1080 would be out of the question for more people, but this speculative 1070Ti might still be within their means.

Not to mention purely marketing wise it's always important to have new products regularly.

They always compared Vega to the 1080. Where is the bluff? Get your facts straight.
That depends on the GPU one has and his budget.
After what Nvidia did with 1080Ti and Titans XPp, you should have known better.

Well actually they'd fish in the Vega56 waters with it, no? Trying to compete? Although I though that they refreshed the 1070 like they did with the 1080 with the GDDR5X upgrade, which I personally would have found sufficient for Pascal lineup.

This pretty much sums it up from a company's side of serving a market. Although I have to note, tech wise I guess they could have skipped such a release. Theoretically, they could have made a 1070 especially for miners and try to grab some of that money too if people can't get their hands on AMD's offerings.

    Strait FACTS from AMD marketing.

So what is this gonna be? Just a 1070 with GDDR5X or will it get another SMX cluster activated too?

To be fair, even there it doesn't say anything about the 1080Ti or Volta (because under the sticker there could be the word "voltage").
The issue was that the hype was bigger than AMD's own claims for a long time, who created the hype is a different question though.

I don't see any sense to launch a GTX 1070 TI, it's understood that they want to kill Vega RX 56, but where I see there's a big gap, is between the GTX 1060 and the GTX 1070. I would buy a possible GTX 1060 TI.

Expect either a 1070Ti or 1070Se (Second Edition) label rather than LE (Lite Edition) - at least if the shader count and memory is better than the 1070's.

Generally speaking the 1060 3GB should be a 1060LE in contrast to a 1060 6GB or the 1060 6GB should be a 1060Ti compared to a 1060 3GB. Who knows what Nvidia will do but we will find out eventually.

Anyway, Vega 56 will probably outlive the 1070 (and the even a Ti) eventually. Potentially get to 1080 AIB level towards the end of its lifetime. Given its immense power draw I'm surprised that Nvidia actually considers closing the performance gap between the 1070 and 1080 as the Vega would only be enticing - if at all - for enthusiasts.

These rumors could be called bulsh* or bollocks?

    Gtx 1070Ti?
nVidia maybe want to "force" people to not buy RX Vega 56 or 64 and put on the market these rumors.Like "Dont buy RX Vega 56,just wait our "new" overpriced mid-range product."

Pascal sells well, they dont need to push Volta or else.

now google the price for every 2nd/3rd "fastest" card Nv released in the past 15y and compare to price of the lineup they have right now.

so where are those overpriced unit? (besides rising prices from mining/higher hardware costs, no one that posted crap like that in the past 20 month, could prove it with a list of release prices of the past decade) i dont see it...
