What's the tflops of 980-Ti in comparison?
980ti @ 1500 is ~8.5tflops, 1080 at 2100 is roughly 25% faster in raw ALU
So what are you gonna do ? Really reconsidering the 550 euro offer I got yesterday
I have today a 980Ti SLI
Do you think that worth the change or its better wait a possible 1080TI?
The real worth updte would be the founder edition, which gonna be 840euros with taxes in france. I'll need to consider before the 27th may!
2x perf and 3x efficiency vs Titan X when using Pascal's special features
Anyway, as for you potential sellers...I'd do it quick because when those GTX1070 drop, your cards won't be worth much anymore. Do it now guys.
What people should be talking about also is not just clock for clock but core for core.... This thing has 2560 cores compared to 3084 for the Titan X/980Ti and beats them both in performance!!! So that to me is an impressive bump generation 2 generation as far as the architecture is concerned. People were saying it was just a Maxwell die shrink were WRONG!
Same, EU prices will end up being 650 euros for standard 1080 and probably 800 for founder's edition
my question is, will there be reference boards ?
in the past reference boards sucked
now i think the nvidia founder's edition will have the best boards and highest binned chips
smart of them honestly, very smart
why should asus/msi/gb produce the best cards when nvidia can keep those for their design with their premium
Assuming there will be a ti, wait. But who knows?
2100mhz from 1733 is only 20% oc
if stock 1080 vs 980ti @ 1500 is pretty much equal
then 1080 will be at best 20% faster
come on, there will be probably 500mm^2
I'll wait a little
The 1080 one will arrive here in Brazil for something like 1000$ or even higher price
2100mhz is a huge though on air. It'll be nice to see what Kingpin does with it.
lots of talk about VR and surround, but I still don't ****ing know the ONE THING i wanted to know
Will it run crysis
I just bought a 980ti from Evga. I could return it and be without graphic till I can buy the 1080 or, if it's eligible for the step-up program from EVGA, trade it for a 1080, which I don't even know if that's possible. Do anyone know if EVGA would change it for a 1080 founder editions or whatever it's called? What would you guys do?
Appreciate any input.
Have to say I found the VR stuff pretty interesting, they're doing a lot for perspective and performance as well as bringing all the GameWork tech to it.
I really like the idea of Ansel too
I refuse to believe these numbers they're showing. First of all, let me state that I have no doubt these cards will be great and obviously an improvement over the previous iterations. But what benchmarks or games were used to achieve those differences being advertised and thrown out to the media.
You can't just run a synthetic homebuilt benchmark that utilises the 1070 & 1080 and claim that they're both faster than the Titan X and GTX 980 Ti. If these numbers don't stand in real gaming scenarios someone should take nVidia to court for false advertisement.
This is like Apple releasing the iPhone 7, saying it's 2 times more powerful than the 6s PLUS, 3 times more power efficient, with 5 times longer battery life, and it's completely water and shatter proof, but we're selling it for $100 instead of the usual $500.
It implies that:
#1 - They were ripping off consumers to maximise profit before.
#2 - They're selling the new product at a loss because they're afraid of the competition catching up.
Put my 980-Ti on the market: money is money afterall lol. if i wait one more month i'll have dust
Is there a link for the replay of today's event? I just got home.
Probably worth it to choose the step-up program, but they do offer this service only for GPU-Upgrades which cost same or more than your originally bought card.
