Even in an NV supported title, the RX570 4GB is 13% faster.

I suspect absolute performance isn't why you buy a 1650 - you're looking for something small, low power but still capable enough and with all the latest features for your cheap oem pc or htpc. If you want performance and can fit a 570 then might as well save up a little more and get something much faster again.

"Excel in modern games" Yeah ok... Lets pretend GPU prices aren't so outrageously high right now a card like this actually seems like a good deal for $150. What a joke.

Crappy gpu for the price, the RX570 is much better choice unless you need that 75W no PCI Express connector.

Which is exactly why it is the way it is. This instantly certifies it for a frack ton of prebuilt systems and is the target market for this card.

I understand the demand but the problem that the MSRP will never be as nVidia stated, it will cost much higher than 570 while being inferior in anyway except the TDP.

It will probably sell well anyway though.

It should not sell well for what it is but people are ignorant. Thats why nvidia left many reviews driverless the first day. Bad press for a bad pruduct is not what they need.

I agree, the product isn't good at all, but people will buy it cause it's nVidia, i don't see it changes anytime soon.

The pc market isn't just enthusiasts with oversized cases/psu's/cooling. The only enthusiasts buying these with be for HTPC's, but we aren't at the enthusiast end of the market here. We are in the land of cheap dells with little cases, rubbish cooling and weak psu's. For those machines it's the fastest card you can fit, a step up on the 1050's.

The AMD competition is the 560 which gets destroyed by these cards. It's no anti AMD conspiracy theory - they just don't have a competitive card for this market, which is why the 1650 will sell just like the 1050's did before.

People can buy whatever they want. I don't f... care :D

I just want the "fastest" hardware, so I buy what's best. If it's AMD, INTEL or Nvidia, I don't care :p

You can fit RX570 into same space as this card. And that smallest RX570 does cost only $125. Then you can reduce clock a bit and undervolt... magic happens... same TDP as here.

But why would you do that? Just upgrade the PSU and buy a 570 on sale. If the 1650 is sold at MSRP it will cost you not much more and you'll have a brand new PSU which is not a bad thing since the PSU in those pre-built systems is crappy as hell. Honestly outside of i must buy nVidia for reasons i don't see the point of this card at the msrp at all. Maybe noise if a fan-less version is released but that's about it. Maybe temp if your HTPC case is really small and the airflow is not good (but then you should probably not have a discrete gpu). Investing 150$ to upgrade a computer not able to run a 570 is ludicrous in my opinion. I just upgraded a 650W PSU bought in 2007 for something like 40$ CAD and that PSU was able to run a 570 without any trouble. A PSU or case not able to run a 570 is not worth investing 150$ into as far as i'm concerned.

It's not any smaller than the smallest 570. It's very convenient for nVidia that if you can run a 570 then you should save and get something better but if your crappy PSU/case can't run a 570 then you should totally spend 150$ on a 1650 instead of saving to build a new proper computer/htpc. Yeah such a good move to spend 150$ on a PC with such a crappy (and likely old) PSU it can't run a 570. That PSU wont blow the whole system eventually nope not gonna happen. I mean come on i just bought a 750W Thermaltake PSU for something like 60$ CAD (probably around 40$ in USA and yeah it was on sale). It's not any bigger than a crappy 300W PSU and it's very silent.

Why not bend the rules, and buy an old used nvidia 970 for 50$? "Same" performance for under half the prize ;)

Because 99.9% of people buying prebuilt PCs aren't upgrading their PSU. They don't care about their PSU. They probably dont even know what a PSU is. Also Dell/HP/Etc isn't purchasing these cards at MSRP.

And yet these companies will probably represent 80%+ of 1650 sales.

Warranty. Remaining life time. 150W to begin with. 28nm. nVidia's lower starting voltage which is not as overblown as AMD's... Getting GTX 970 down to 75W and it will lose to 1650 in performance.
New things are partly based on compute which on 970 sux.

How could you not think any of those for yourself?

RX570 average of 167w over 21 games.... Try one more time ;)

Looks like RX 570 sux :p
