As I was having some issues with drivers, I let Windows Update download and install the 388.13 drivers for my GTX970. I didn't notice any issues until I went to FS2004. No anti-aliasing seems to be applied. Must be the new drivers as it was fine before. I had a slightly older version of nVidia Inspector, so I updated to the latest version that I could find (2.13), but though I resaved my FS2004 profile (not tried FSX, I hardly ever use it), still no anti-aliasing in the sim. Maybe all my nVidia Inspector settings are being ignored... it all looks pretty dire suddenly, whatever.

Can anyone please help me get nVI working again? Is there a recommended later driver for the GTX970 (Win7 64-bit) that I should install instead? The PC only runs FS2004, FSX (though as I say, hardly ever) and X-Plane 11.10. (The latter has its own anti-aliasing setup and I don't have an X-Plane nVI profile).

Thanks for any help, as I can't run FS9 till this is fixed!

    Martin

    The latest one released.

Not always the case for particular games.

True but is the case for 99,9% of games out there, especially for a Maxwell based GPU. If there are games which work worse on the latest driver then this will likely be true for all cards out there.

    I'm installing 388.59 now...

... recreated my nVidia Inspector profile, and it seems to be fine. Nice sharp lines again. Maybe I should just automatically install the latest driver in future :)

Keep away from Windows update drivers, good things never come from them

Disable automatic driver installation + Uninstall current driver with DDU + Latest driver + Barebones clean installation
