They took it out of the 8800's. NVIDIA says the 8800's supposedly aren't capable of the old Image Sharpening, so they ripped it out, and I REALLY miss it. Does anyone know if there is a program that does what the old NVIDIA Image Sharpening used to do? Anything at all that would work in a similar way?
well, i love image sharpening, it makes stuff look so neat and makes some hidden details way clearer than normally they are.
Try it in an older game such as Soldier of Fortune 2 for instance. Combined with AA it makes older, less detailed, games look wicked.
Omg what will we ever do? I mean what if I was like, you know checking porn and need to sharpen the picture, what will I do then?? I mean errr, if I couldn't read something I need to sharpen the words!! Back to the topic, I kinda noticed it too when I first got my 8800GTX. I learned to live without it. I never really used it anyways.
I use image sharpening, only a little though. I like the vibrance toggle also, is that still working with the 8800?
Ehmm who told you that the 8800 can't do it ? Image Sharpening is an extremely hjelpful feature if you connect your videocard to a SD/HD TV. You can sharpen media-content intensely.
Who told me? NVIDIA, in their driver release notes. As well as my own eyes while navigating the control panel. @And yes, thankfully they kept the digital vibrance, or I would go over to ATI.
if you use the nvidia example pics a 4% increase is very substantial and should be a minimum.. and at 9% im happy because it bumps up just a lil bit while 14% is a hardcore sharpening change out of focus out of the box if you ask me
