I do not like telemetry, so:

in setup.cfg file

delete the two files below from the C:\Windows Folder
NvContainerRecovery.bat
NvTelemetryContainerRecovery.bat

clean install

 

After clean installing your way do you have these 2 still running?

 

so... we need change .cfg of installer, delete folders, run commands, make the installation, delete more folders later too, run task manager to disable things and finally freedom, nice, and yet see people saying the nvidia package of drivers are not a garbage

Those are services, so yes one service two instances of Nvcontainer in the process list.

There is some telemetry/watchdog built into core drivers now.

I don't know how to resolve it, I've deleted the windows store downloads folder, I have run wsreset.exe, I ran DDU, and I manually did the whole nvidia driver uninstall process, I've looked through the registry for anything I could spot, but obviously its something not usual. There should be a way to clean this up in case people like me do stupid things like instal a DCH accidentally. Still don't understand why the dch even exists.

I also have only this service running after installing with nvslimmer but NvContainerRecovery.bat is present in system folder. What I'm trying to find out is whether it's also part of the bloat or telemetry.

 

I do not like this new drivers , lower performance fps on the games i play - Forza Horizon 4 / Anthem / NFS Payback also all my 3dmarks scores went down a lot ( i guess it's related to the telemetry bloatware hugging resources maybe ... ) . Back to awesome whql 425.31 and i gain the performance back.

Definitely not recommended if you play those games and / or if you are into benchmarking.

How low did you 3dmark scores go ? and please don't tell me 2-3% that is margin of error and like someone said in this topic/forum. You don't play benchmarks ... even if scores are lower but you gain a more stable frametime I would make this trade every time.

 

There is nothing funny about a driver service taking 15% of CPU resources. And we had this issue just 2 driver version ago. So I wouldn't dismiss peoples ability to screw up working software. Take recent Firefox fiasco for example.
Doesn't mean I'm saying that this drivers in particular has telemetry or CPU hogging problem.

 

So far it doesn't. I didn't try.53 hotfix beta, but these don't have it if resumed from sleep. It's the only time it happened here.

 

Running great on a GTX 1080 in Windows 10 1903. I don't really benchmark framerates but instead look for a smooth overall experience in my gaming and so far this set has not dissapointed me.No issues so far in a range of different titles using different engines but will post if I notice anything amiss.

 

The Firefox fiasco wasn't really that bad, it was only a certificate that run out of date and it was a weekend so it took them a bit longer than normal to fix it.

This driver seems good to me. A few fps less than before but for me at least they feel smoother actually. Everything installed fine and it's a keeper for me.

 

I lost control panel in last whql but its fine in this one.

AHH!!! WHAT "SPECIFIC" TUNNEL IS IT???

Ahem, I mean, if it is a specific tunnel why not tell us so we may try to avoid it? Now I'll develop an irrational fear of all tunnels in the game...or just not renew my game pass since the game has so many network issues right now with this tunnel crash added for even more fun! Sticking with 399.24/425.31 for now, but will watch to see what the hotfix for these drivers brings.

 

I bit my tongue (sort of) when they started asking for a log in and pass for Experience, because that's really annoying. They've now taken it to the next level: a capture. A f'in capture?!! Not just a simple one either, it's the "should i click the tires too or is just the truck enough?" really annoying must solve several captures just to get in to use the software. W.T.F. nvidia?

Are you serious ? In the past the driver hugging resources was a FACT ! , inform yourself better next time before you make this kind of comments.

Go test yourself 3dmarks if you want to know how low the scores has gone on this driver...

I will take more performance and fps for my benchmarks any day , so as you can see we have different use for our hardware and you are entitled to your opinion and so do I
