More than twice price for 3090. Well, I believe most people are getting 3070/3080. Like I will do. Msrp of 3090 will be huge at retail stores and aib. I can easily see their best versions surpassing 1999$. I am gonna buy 3080 or Navi. I can't wait for rdna2 specifications to decide.

Pretty impressive specs for the 3080 and 3090 *if* those slides NVIDIA showed are really true but I guess the reviews will confirm this.

The 3080 looks like an awesome replacement for my 3 year old 1080 Ti, especially at $699/£699, but it only has 10 GB of VRAM so there is no way I am downgrading from 11 GB of VRAM when games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator use all of it on my 1080 Ti. If only it had had 12 GB then I would bitten...

... and, yeah, it might be 1 GB less but I refuse to upgrade to any new GPU at that price point that has less VRAM just out of principle. This card is clearly aimed at 1080 and 2080 owners with 8 GB cards.

The 3090 looks like a beast but a chunky and ugly one based on the size of the thing but at $1,499/£1,499 it is complete out of my price point plus I would have no need of 24 GB of VRAM anyway as I game at 1440p and will be for a few years more yet as it is the sweet spot between having a decent resolution and maximum visual fidelity plus a high framerate on my G-SYNC display.

Guess, I'll have to wait for 2021 and the inevitable 3080 Ti with its (finger crossed) 12-15 GB of VRAM...

Just watched the Digital Foundry 3080 video:

They bizarrely cannot show framerates but they adapted their software to show the performance increase over the 2080 in a few games using that card as the base 100%. They tested DOOM Eternal, Control, Metro Exodus and a few others, both with and without RTX where applicable, and the performance increase over the 2080 was in the 65-95% region even for those games using ray-tracing. That is a staggering performance leap over the previous generation IMO.

The NVIDIA conference video mentioned the 3080 was faster than $1,200 2080 Ti but costs just $699, almost half the price. Makes me so glad I skipped Turing, especially as there weren't many reasons to buy it with RTX and DLSS support being so sparse for the first year of its life. With PS5 and Xbox Series X supporting ray-tracing now is definitely the right time to upgrade your non-RTX cards, although it will be interesting to so what improvements can be made to the 2nd generation Ampere cards in 2021. I am especially interested in a 3080 Ti so I am going to wait until I've built my new AMD Ryzen 4000 PC next year before upgrading my 1080 Ti.

I would have bought RTX 3080 if it had more VRAM. 10 GB is a turn off and I'm waiting for possible 20 GB variants.

10GB could work out fine for games using their new tech

Also improved memory compression will get more out of the same space.

Price to performance looks really nice. Its so tempting to just grab a 3080 as the uplift over what I'm using now would be insane. I'd really like to see how RDNA2 is going to look. But I won't wait forever. Hope you hear me AMD.
