VRS is a shading feature, I doubt that it has any relation to WDDM.

Just guessing at this point. They haven't announced what's new in WDDM 2.6. At least nothing that I could find. I have no idea if using VRS on the desktop would improve performance.

Why not? Wolfenstein 2 is using it already albeit via Vulkan extension. Performance gain is completely dependent on content and the implementation of VRS into the engine though.

Yeah, would it really benefit the Windows desktop? It's pretty static...maybe if it was more interactive. Possibly in the future.

Oh, you mean desktop environment? No, I don't think so. There's also no need since it's hardly requires any processing power.

    Exactly...

Remember the days of Windows Vista and animated desktop backgrounds? That was kinda cool... Wish we could have some nice hour long nature videos in 8K and 4K as video background wallpapers.

Desktop environment characteristics are dictated by notebook power requirements mostly. Which is why we lost Aero and other power hungry stuff in Win8+. But yeah, some options for PCs where power is of no concern would be cool.

You should give Stardocks DeskScapes a try.

DX VRS implementation is a DXGI feature which will occur with a wddm increment.

Well so far it seems unanimous. Everybody in the ARK forums that have tried these drivers agree that they did absolutely nothing to fix the issue.

Can confirm myself. Although it did change something, instead of BSOD'ing eventually, now only ARK crashes. Which is an improvement, I guess, just not that much.

Hmm. GSync seems to have stopped working for me on this driver? I did a full DDU uninstall. GTX 1070 - AOC AG271QG.

Even though, if I choose to display the gsync notification for when it's active it does show up, in Apex Legends for example but there's tons of tearing. This didn't happen with official ones. It's a shame because they're performing really really well. Anyone has the same issue? Or know if it can be fixed?

Not sure if it's these or the latest patch for Division 2, but, i'm seeing loads of 'back to desktop' crashes.
