GeForce Hotfix display driver version 456.98 is based on Game Ready Driver 456.71.

The hotfix addresses the following issues:
    • [Ampere]: Random flicker may occur in multi-monitor configurations when G-SYNC is enabled
    • Users may see a black screen when launching a game on a monitor using DSC (Display Stream Compression)
    • [Notebook]: On some Turing based notebooks, users may see a black window when playing back a video in a web browser
    • [For Honor]: Game will crash to desktop when launched on GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards
    • [Forza Motorsport 7]: Game may crash to desktop when starting a race

Anyone experiencing those browser TDR's, please try this hotfix - the notebook fix may resolve the issue.

So is the Call of Duty: Warzone stuttering with Ampere ever going to be fixed?

You mean the stuttering on all graphics cards that Infinity Ward introduced with the current patch?

This driver fixed the black screens on launch I had on some games. I was a bit worried as I got my evga 3080 today so at least I know it's not faulty.

I am still waiting on LG to release the firmware fix for G-Sync - C9.

Btw I think 10bit is broken when switching on HDR, the picture looks like it has a milky white overlay rather than have proper highlights like 8bit. I won't report until I see if the issue remains after the firmware update

  11. A hotfix at less than a week away at the launch of titles like Ghostrunner , Watch Dogs Legion? WTF?
I was expecting the new Game Ready Driver directly!

afaik thats part of the firmware issues on the C9/X, LG is a bit weird with their tv's these days, they don't seem to be fully feature complete till months after they're already been on the market.

having games outright not work on your new card is a big deal, so is not having working DSC, expect hotfixes to be a common thing until everyones back at work next year and extensive QA resumes.

Also expect regressions to be common :<

I have never seen this issue before on my Turing laptop. Why not fix that annoying stuttering on Optimus enabled Notebooks using an external monitor in second screen only instead? That is a true problem TONS of people complained about, but nobody, Intel nor Nvidia will take responsibility. Optimus is so broken it's sad. It can't even switch programs to the iGPU once you boot the machine up with an external monitor.

Or you know, that issue with stuttery browsing and videoplayback on YouTube.

Instead they fix non existent issues.

because its a dwm compositor issue, not a driver one.

Also, you should educate yourself on just how many deviations for notebook motherboard <> panel interfaces there are, issues can arise from using lvds vs edp

This is still unacceptable. Look at how many notebooks are affected. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc.../257428/laptop-1070-external-monitor-stutter/

Then Nvidia and Intel should get their crap together and work with Microsoft to solve this damn issue. Not a single company takes damn responsibility for this issue and it is driving me crazy.
