It looks like Nvidia is lifting the release of the pending GeForce GTX 960 over the Christmas season, a little weird as the plan right now seems to be a release in late January 2014. So that thus ... Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 In January
I'm really interested on the price of this thing, nVidia has finally a chance to make a really good deal in price/performance for people with a lower budget. If this thing is only 200 bucks and better than the 280x i'm sold.
980 is already full GM204. So unless Nvidia plans to use a gimped GM210 as the Ti, we most likely won't see it.
After they bought their xmas presents, but before they spent the money they got for xmas or the exchanged presents ...
At 250$ you can already find custom 290's thats really close or fast as 970. I dont see 960 becoming popular at that price point.
At 250$ you can find 290..... That price is not for every region, for me, Lithuania East Europe, 960 can be a very good product, i believe 15% perf difference with 970. OC and its pretty similar, as always. 970 too expensive and overpowered for 1080p for me. i easily turn off AA, so 960 can be the card to replace my 8800gt finally
it depend on AMD ability to make good driver lol ((ok i like trolling sometime)) (edit btw 290 are at 350$ here) yes me too!! brown in size 9,5
If in keeping with performance of previous x60's (460, 560, 760), the 960 should be a strong performer, maybe close to a 970. And if at $250 and on par or close to a 290, the power draw differences will likely sway most to the 960.
Not with 128bit bus, apparently. Btw what power savings, people still bitch to save power with uber 850w+ PSUs?
Zauba.com ( fret services ) is becoming the more reliable source ever. But i ask me if Nvidia, AMD and other dont use it for control or make buzz a bit the internet. Its not completely an hasard if you have so much "information" on a shipping manifest. For a company who control so much the leaks before the launch, it is a bit strange that they will completely describe the product 1 month before launch when shipping them.
Another leak @ techpowerup said 128bit & 2gb vram. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/nvidia-to-launch-geforce-gtx-960-in-january.207925/
Well, good luck to nvidia if they're trying to sell a mid range card with just 2gb in 2015, i hope people are not idiot enough to buy it. Next amd's line will probably offer something better/cheaper and with plenty vram so you don't need to play with textures on low.
I bet that card is going to be 950 or 950ti, no way is a $250 ish gpu going to be 128 bit, likely its going to be a 256 bit 4gb at lower clocks and cut shaders compared to a 970.
