All I see is trollolol, I'm a pro I know it all..

I will troll some more, how long do you use nv? I personally since early r80-r90 (did not count detonator days).. and think I know a pattern or two how things work.

I didn't say they transferred certain fixes seen at r398, of course they transferred those back to r396, but still I made my point in that post. Won't touch r396, r397 is better.
Dont play newer games "optimized" with this driver so not bothered at all.. not right away. At least lately, when they always release another beta driver to fix a fix lol

I'm not worried about restart, I'm worried what the software full of telemetry and c*ap is doing to my machine, but it seems this is not something that happens (restart) or maybe only on win10 that I'm avoiding as a plague anyway.
I wonder how long will it take nvidia to block a possibility to create "clean" driver option that many of us use these days...

If you're worried about Nvidia's telemetry, you can turn it off.

Installed these (the free of crap version so no bloat, telemetry, GFE, etc..) and they run perfect. Had a particularly intense night of gaming with a buddy which we just wrapped up and I encountered no issues or negative performance impact. These are excellent considering that nVidia usually doesn't get the first release of a new branch out with a few glaring issues.

When I exit the installer the files disappear so I can't de-bloat it.

Extract it first with winrar or 7zip

Ran these last night, (no reboot needed, if that matters), played a few runs of BF1 and was very good (smoothness), since this was MP and server/networking comes into play will need more time but nothing bad performance wise, if anything tiny improvement but its hard to say now.

Copy the folder after the extraction phase while the installer running and then exit.

    why, why complicate??

you install 7zip which is free (I'm not sure if winRAR can extract this nvidia installation).
    delete folders you don't need.
add that line in config file (find it here on the clean thread).
    run setup
    done.

Exactly. All this just to save a couple hundred megabytes of disk space and nothing more lol.

How about every driver release thread DOESN'T get spammed with posts that have nothing to do with the driver and only speak of modifying it for almost no reason? That would be nice.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, i used to do the clean drivers myself for years. Then i thought to myself, why? It doesn't give any extra fps, it doesn't save any significant SSD/HDD space , like 80mb less if debloated. So yeah, i guess i realized it's just pointless to "debloat" the drivers. I guess the only thing one could bitch about with the untouched driver, is that you get perhaps one or two more services running, but they all use like 2-6mb of RAM so again, doesn't really matter.

NV finally sorted out the notebook driver, and now installs.

No need to optimize drives when the HDD is below 10% fragmented.
